Folk rock band Mumford and Sons formed in London, England in [E] 2007.
With Marcus Mumford, Winston [Em] Marshall, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwayne all playing multiple
[F] instruments, the band began by performing in and around the area.

Chess Club Records that same year.

_ _ [E] In an effort to remain a creative [Dbm] force behind their work, [E] Mumford and Sons funded the [Dbm] production
of the album themselves.

The [Bb] Indian folk rock [F] effort debuted within the top 20 of [C] the UK charts and [F] eventually
reached the second spot.
It received positive reviews from critics and won the band [C] a Brit Award in 2011.
[F] The album also yielded their first Top 40 UK single, Little Lion Man.

the album in 2010.

In early 2011, they began writing [G] new songs together in [C] Nashville, Tennessee.
This was followed by more touring and a return to London to record music for the soundtrack

_ Next, Mumford and Sons and British musician Birdie recorded a song for the soundtrack
of the 2012 computer [D]-animated film [F] Brave.

_ _ _ While the highly anticipated album mostly followed the same musical vein as their previous
effort, [G] it was also more mature and personal in [C] nature. _
