I remember doing the project on the Freedom Ride when we were doing Indigenous Studies
at school.
I was about 10 or 11 and I decided I'd make that the focus of my project.
I remember
writing the story about Charlie Perkins and how he gathered up all these friends to come
out on the bus and check out living conditions in the regions of New South Wales.
It's just
[B] nice to reflect back on the progress made by people like Charlie Perkins.
The progress
made by the people who were, even the non-Indigenous people as well, that decided they were going
to jump on that bus from the uni in Sydney and go and help [C#m] out, go and be a part of it.
