Hello, Marty Schwartz here at GuitarJams.com.
[Em] What's up you guys?
Hope you're doing well.
I'm going to teach you this [Gb] tune right now.
It's a [G] fun one because it's not that hard.
It's really just power chords.
A little tiny little bridge thing but really it's not too bad.
I've got [D] a bunch of cool stuff that I give out.
You can click the link below this box.
It's down there and check it out.
I appreciate that but let's get to the riff.
Here we go.
All right, the riff starts.
It's pretty much all power chords and I'm going to play it this way.
Fifth fret on the A, seventh on the D and seventh on the G.
We [D] play that power chord and
[E]
we're going to go like this.
Between the five and the seventh fret, that power chord is going to slide back and forth
and we go.
[A] It's [E] boom, boom, boom.
[A] Boom, [E] boom, boom.
We [B] start with that.
[E]
Then it goes back again.
[D] We've got [E] [Dm]
[Bb] the do, da, da, do, da, da.
[E]
[D] [E] [D]
[E] Then one more time but just one [B] each.
[D] Then [E]
[B]
[D]
[E] [Dm] [E]
we're going to [A] move our power chord to the fifth fret on the E.
Five, seven, seven
and we're going to go five, four, three.
[Dm] Watch.
[E] [A]
[D] [B] Five, five, [Eb] five, five, four, [A] three.
[E]
[A] [G]
[B] We put some distortion on.
[A]
[B]
[G] [E] [Gb] Now, let's see.
[Bm]
There's just this little pentatonic lick that goes on underneath the second time around
in the verse.
It's just right here on the twelfth fret.
I've got some trippy delay going but really it's like twelve from the high E to the B.
[B]
[Bm] Then just like pentatonic scale right there between the fifteen and the twelve.
[B]
[Bm] Also, the chorus [Bb] is [E] just distorted and it's E power chord [D]
to D power chord, [Gm] G power chord,
third fret on the low E.
[A] That's it.
That's the chorus.
Da, da, [D] da, da, da, da, [A]
[E] da.
[D]
[G] [A]
[B]
[A] [Gm] [B] Okay?
That's really all there is and there's a [A] bridge.
[A]
[D]
[A] [E] Really, kind of what's going on, the bass is [A] going just a pedaling is what you call
that on an A note or an open A.
That way you can with the open A, you can point out to the audience.
[E] Kip Winger was the master of the one-handed bass pedal.
Okay, so [B] it's the D string and the G string on the second fret pulled [D] off.
[B] That's a real power chord.
[D]
[A] You just pull it off [A] to [D]
[Eb] a D [A] chord, so [D] back [B] to an A power chord.
[D]
[A]
[A] [E]
[D] [G]
[A] [E]
[D] [G]
[A] [B]
[A] [B]
All [Eb] right, that was the lesson.
I hope that was helpful.
Remember, I always [N] have a bunch of cool extra stuff that I can give to you through the link
below this box.
Otherwise, hopefully, I'll see you in another lesson real soon.
Take care.
