Well for today's song I have a special request and this
request was from Sherry and she asked me a long time ago and I'm finally getting a chance to
record this [Am] song.
Well this [C] is a song called I Love My White Shoes and you all might be
familiar with it if you've done a lot.
So this song is called I Love My White Shoes. _ _

Cat, I Love My White Shoes and this is a story by Eric Litwin and this _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ is probably _
you know a staple in storytime.
_ So Pete the Cat for those of you who don't know Pete the Cat
is this very groovy cat [Am] um who _ has _ [C#m] _ _ _ _
white shoes.
Well he's in the book, sorry, he steps into _ _ _ _ _ a _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ pile of blueberries and it turns his shoes blue and so on and so _ _ _ _ _ _ he has a little, I mean throughout
the book he has a little song called I Love My White Shoes and _ _ it's only two, oh it's two chords
really.
It's the D chord and the G7 chord but at the end you could do a really _ big jazzy ending _
is with the D7 chord.
Now the D chord is a newer chord that I'm introducing to you.
You can see it right back [B] there.
[C#] _ It'd be a terrible weather without _ the D chord. _ _
_ _ It's almost a bar chord so what you do you can put your finger right there _ _ first string
_ [C#m] and third string.
_ It gets a little crowded but you can do it.
So the first three strings
_ _ and _ _ _ we'll sound like [D] this. _ _
_ _ _ _ _ There's the D chord.
_ [G#] _ _ _ _ You know the G7 chord already. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [G] _ _ _ _ _ _
[D] _ And then the _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [G] G7 chord. _
_ _ _ _ _ And for that last chord, the D7 chord, you know how you did this with the [B] three fingers across?
_ Well you can try _ to do a bar chord.
It makes it a lot easier for this chord.
So _ _
take your pointer _ and just put it straight across _ and then take your middle finger [D] and put it on the
last fret, _ last string and the third fret. _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[C] Okay.
_ [D] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ This is the D chord _
_ [E] and it stays on [D] there for
a bit until [F#] you change it up to singing about [G] the white shoes and then [D] you go back to the D. _ _
So let's just sing it.
So I'll just do _ a simple little strum for this.

So Pete the Cat is walking along and in his white shoes and then he steps into a pile
of strawberries and what color does it turn his shoes?

And does he start crying?
