Video Lesson " Anointing Fall on Me" in Db chords
Jam Along & Learn...
Hi, this is Sam again from Sound of Joy Music Services and we're doing a quick lesson on the song Anointing Fall on Me.
And we're going to do this in the key of D flat and we're going to see if we can transpose into a couple of keys from D flat.
Now of course, let me [G] change my piano sound to a more [Db] traditional sound.
There we go.
Now, the song, it's [N] done sometimes as a solo song or as a congregational song.
[Db] But when you know where your key is, which is in D flat, [Eb]
as you see I found the first note right away, which is the B flat [Fm]
to the A flat to the F, [Db]
D flat, [Eb] F, E flat.
Now, [Gm] I teach melody and then chords.
Some people teach chords and then you [Bb] find the melody later on.
[F] But I love to be able to chord around a melody.
[Fm] You [Bbm]
[Ab] see the melody is still on top.
[Fm] [Bbm]
[Ebm] [Ab]
[Db]
[Gb] [B]
[Db] [Bbm]
[Abm] [Db]
And [F] as you see, melody is found completely within the context of the D flat scale.
[Fm]
[Db] [Eb] [Ab]
[Fm] [Db]
[Eb] [Fm]
[Eb]
[Db] [F]
[Eb] [Db] And once you've got the scale down and the melody down, [G] then you can do all the little fancy trills that are around it.
Now, I love to, again, build [N] chords.
So I might start it off with what is known as a [Cm] tritone.
[C]
I love to have a nice bottom to it.
[Fm]
[Bbm] [Ab] [Gb]
[Ab] [Bb] [Fm]
[Bbm]
[Ab]
[Db]
[Gb]
[Eb] [Ab]
[Db] Now, what did I [N] just do there?
Took the entire song in context, melody-wise, and then began to build upon it.
I give it that [Bb] nice opening.
[Bbm] Here's the melody.
I change the chord.
[Ebm] [Ab] A run.
[C] [Fm] [Bbm]
[F]
[Ab] [Db]
[Gb] [B]
[Fm] [Ebm]
[Db] [Em] Now, all of the stuff that you see me doing, [Fm] when you practice chords and you practice [Gb] scales [Ab]
in [Ebm] [Ab] every key,
then you can take a part of the song, [Fm] melody [E]-wise, and then find a nice chord change that goes with it.
[Gm] Now, I know you want some chords, so let's [Ab] give you some.
We'll give you that first one.
[E] [C]
[Fm]
Now, you see I'm doing [F] melody on top.
[Bbm] And see how my left hand now gives me a nice bottom to the bass?
And I finish the chord off with my right [Eb] hand.
[Bbm] [Bb]
[Ab] A little run.
[Cm]
Same chord, just a run.
A
[Fm] [Bbm]
little trill.
Chord.
[Ab] Now, the crescendo.
[Db]
[Abm] [F] [Ebm]
[Gb] [Ebm] [Gb]
[Ebm] Or [Bb] you can change.
[Eb]
[Gbm]
[Gb] [Db] And
[Ab] [Db]
then go higher.
[C]
[Fm] [Bbm]
[Ab]
[Bb] [Fm]
[Bbm] [Ebm] [Eb]
[Db] [F] [Gb]
[B] [Db]
[Bbm] [Eb] [Gb]
[Db] Keep moving.
[Bb]
[Fm] [Bbm]
[Ebm]
[Fm]
[Fm] [Db] [Ebm]
[Ab] [Bbm] [Am]
[Abm] [Fm] [Gb]
[Gbm] Turn [Bbm] around.
[Ab]
[F] [Bbm] [Dbm]
[Db] [Ab]
[Bbm] [Eb]
[Gbm] [Db] [Bbm] [Ebm]
[C] [Bbm] [A]
