The K4 Mando Cello.
A kid came up to me after a show one time and said,
Out there, medieval.
uh, [C] this [N] is from the day when John Madeline roamed the earth.
line for [C#] Mike Marshall.
that Mando [G] Cellos have twice as many strings as a cello and they're quite smooth.
like a cello as far as the [C] tuning of it.

_ _ The K4 Mando Cello. _
A kid came up to me after a show one time and said,
that's medieval man.
Out there, medieval.
_ _ That's uh, _ _ _ [C] this _ [N] is from the day when John Madeline roamed the earth.
_ [Cm] Still in line for [C#] Mike Marshall.
_ [B] _ [Em] _ He [C] said that Mando [G] Cellos have twice as many strings as a cello and they're quite smooth.
So, it's strung just like a cello as far as the [C] tuning of it.
It starts on a C on the bass.
_ But with double pairs [G#] of strings, so it forces a string.
[N] _ This is all original except we believe that Gibson sprayed the [G] top probably sometime in the [C] 30s. _ _
_ _ It's really old lacquer. _ _
_ [N] People weren't spraying lacquer in their backyards like they are now in the 30s.
_ I talked to Groon about it when the world started [G#] there.
He's a great friend of ours.
_ _ [N] Back _ has the original French poly.
_ _ But these were an integral part of _ _ the Mammon orchestras.
And they've got the K1 version over there. _
_ [Em] Kind of beat up, kind of plain.
[B] _ _
_ [F#] What probably stayed [N] in the case, _ there's a condition that's pit guard and binding rot.
If you leave them in the case too long, because the pit guards are celluloid _ and the binding is also plastic,
they'll actually give off a gas over a period of time.
If you don't air out the cases once in a while, the pit guards will actually crystallize.
You can see the discoloration in the top here and some of this, I don't know why that's there.
Possibly some moisture, I don't know.
It would be that.
With the pit guard material, it's kind of in the finish.
I believe they tried to pull that out.
_ This mandichello's had a _ _ hard life, I'll put it that way.
Had a lot of repairs, but _ it's still working.
_ After a lot of work that I put into it.
It's a great sound of [D] mandichello. _
It was cheap.
_ He won't give me that one. _ _ _ _ _ _
I would say that [E] we're going to get the mandichellos over with.
[D] We are going to play them at the same time. _ _ _
[Em] They really lend themselves well to Celtic music.
Yes, I [N] use it a lot on Celtic music.
_ So that's what we're going to do.
Is that what it is?
