Hi everybody, welcome back to Mando lessons in this lesson.
I am going to just have a little jam with you here
We're gonna work on the tune whiskey before breakfast.
If you don't know the tune already
There's a full lesson for it over at mandolessons.com for free
You can learn the tune by ear or look at the tabs and standard notation
But what I'm gonna do in this lesson is we're gonna play through the tune five times
I'll start out by playing the melody and you can play the chords along behind me and then I'll will switch
So I play the chords and you play the melody and then we'll switch back
So I'm playing the melody and you're playing the chords switch again.
You play the melody
I'll play the chords and then the fifth time let's both just play the tune together
It's a great way to
work on taking a break if you want to do a little improvising when it's your turn to play play the melody or just to
Get used to play along with somebody else if you just want to stick to the melody
That's totally fine, too.
[G] You can sort of hear what I'll do.
I'll play the melody the first time and then
Do a little bit of a break the second time and then when we both play it, let's stick pretty close to the melody
[N] So I'll do it not too fast not too slow kind of medium speed
But if you do need to slow it down or speed it up
You can click on the gear in the bottom right hand corner of this video and change the speed to 50 or 75 percent
Or up to 125 [Fm] percent.
You [C] want to be a speed demon?
[N] I think playing at a moderate speed is a good practice for this one
So Kia D whiskey before breakfast, let's get to it
