What more could you ask for?
Now, it's been a while since I made my last video,
so I think this is well overdue.
What I'm going to be teaching today [B] is the
best ukulele strum in the world by Coveywood
on YouTube.
I like to play [Gb] mine a little bit
different than he does, but I'll [C] teach you mine as well.
[Em]
[Am] [Em] [C] [F]
[Am] [A] So this is how to play Coveywood's
version.
So [B] we're just going to be messing around with the
chords that [Bb] are in Pursuit of Happiness
by [C] Kid Cudi, which are C,
A [Em] minor, and E minor. [C] And then C, [Am] F,
and then A minor.
[Bb] What you do to do his type of strum
is you [C] go down
with the index finger all the way
through.
When that happens,
you want to spread it out
from your thumb.
So leave
the thumb up here towards the top.
And then
just strum the top G string.
And then he comes up with
his index finger.
So it's
[N] just to keep it
That [C] sounded
like a gunshot.
So to keep it in a basic
4-4 bar line,
he has to turn it around at the very end.
So
see I change it back up.
I just go up, down, up, down.
Up, down, up, down.
So, and that's
and the next thing you switch right after the up, down,
up, down.
[Am] [Em]
[C] Let's take the
pattern really slow.
[Am] [Em]
[G] Now my version is basically the same thing
only this time instead of just plucking
the top [Bbm] G string,
I like to go all the way through.
[C] It sounds more full.
[Am]
[Em] [C] [Am]
[Em] [Cm] [Gm] With my version, instead of
just using the thumb to pluck
the top [Cm] string
So with my version, instead of just [G] using the thumb
to pluck the top string, [Am] I follow
all the way through.
[C] So it's following my index
finger.
Again, with a
C. So
spreads apart, your
thumb stays up here,
then it follows through.
Then comes back up with the
index finger.
So
[Am] [Em]
[Am] [Em] [C]
[Am] [Em] [C] [Am]
[Em] [Bm] [N] So I know I've been kind of busy
and I have not gotten back to you with the requests
that I've already gotten.
I know.
But I will get to them.
And the next
ukulele lesson is what you've been asking [Gm] for.
[N] That.
I'm really
rusty at it so I'm kind of relearning it again.
