Alex Lifeson from Rush visits Music Shop in Tokyo chords
Start Jamming...
[E] Alright folks, [C#] I'm about to freak you [A] guys out like I've just been freaked out.
I was wandering around the store and saw some [E] foreigners walking around and oh my god,
Alex Lifeson from [G] Rush is in the store.
Hello.
[A#] My hand is shaking [D] holding the camera because I'm a huge [Em] Rush fan and this is absolutely blowing my mind.
[F#] So, welcome to our store.
[E] What are you doing in Tokyo?
I'm visiting [Em] friends and we're [Bm] here to enjoy the sakura [B] season.
We [A] sell Alex's [G] guitar [A] here in the store.
So [Bm] this is the Alex [G] Lifeson signature [G#] series guitar [F#] with the piezo [D] and the dual outputs [G] and everything on the [D] guitar and the access.
And Alex is very [G] kindly going to sign [Bm] the back panel on the guitar for us.
So, Mochizuki-san, [D] onegaishimasu.
Thank
[E] [F#m]
[D]
you [E] very much, sir.

one just down here, this blue one here, the blue seal color actually has, if I can get to it for a second,
I'll show you the back.
You're not going to believe this.
This has a full Carina back including backplates and everything.
That's one hell of a private stock guitar.
That was once again another design by one of our staff members as well.
Yeah, that's great.
They make them to order for us.
We have actually cutting boards made of spelt maple.
Okay.
Where we live.
[G] We got a lot of maple.
[A] That's such a [G] beautiful
Yeah, [C#] of course.
Well, that's the top of my acoustic is a spelted maple.
Well, [G#] like I said, we've got your Paul Reed Smith signature acoustic in here.
I'll show you.
[E] Is Alex's guitar here?
Ah, they bought it in here.
Ah, beautiful.
This has got to be one of the first ones.
Because they only started [C#] shipping [D] this.
[F#] Well, like I said, there's two in Japan and we have one of them.
[Em]
[A]
[C]
We spent quite [A] a bit of time before we [D] found [Em] all the inlay that we wanted to do here.
Spelted maple, yeah.
And we trimmed the outside of the fretboard with this very fine blue.
Nice.
This is [C] my model.
Oh, that's it?
Yeah.
Did [G] you get a letter?
Yeah, see?
Oh, no, that's not it.
Did you get a letter with this that I signed?
Ah, this guitar set
I don't think so, because I just sent [D] them back
Do you have a letter?
Last week.
What does the thin line mean?
Well, typically this guitar is a deeper guitar.
It's about another inch deeper, this model.
[A] But because this [Am] was designed for a [F#m] live application on a stage with a big PA,
[G] we went with a narrower,
[E] [G]
more aggressive kind of sound to it.
This one was shipped without the letter, so
Yeah, I just signed the letters, actually.
You just did them?
That's hilarious.
You should definitely get it, because I signed all of the letters and it comes with the guitar.
So it's a special, you know
How many did they make, do you know?
We just, I mean, they just started production.
How many letters did you have to write?
Of course.
I'm guessing it was probably about 100.
[N]
But they're excited about it and we'll see what happens with it.
It's a new thing for them.
They're not really known for their acoustics,
but [Bm] they sound beautiful.
And the intonation is so perfect on them.
[D] I love the fact that the machine heads are [Bm] very gradual,
[A] so you turn [D] them a lot to tune, so the increments are very
Yeah, [N] it's funny, isn't it?
You didn't think we'd have one and there it is.
Yeah.
So we've got two of your signature guitars.
Two of your guitars in the store.
That's pretty cool.
I don't think there are many of these out yet.
[B]
[A] [G] I'm amazed [N] that you have this.
I'm glad we could impress you, Mr.
Lysson.
Yes, thank you.
Sure did.
It's a little more than that.
It's just under about 15.
I love even your wife's face was just shocked with the price of your guitar.
I'm glad he gets them for free.
It was a look of happiness.
And I keep telling him, you blew this stuff right here.
I know I've got like three of these in my living room right now.
It's a hard life, mate.
I really feel for you.
Well, you deserve it.
You guys have worked hard for [G] it.
Well, in fact, I have the original prototype that they did,
and then the very first model that they did, plus [D] the two Angelus,
[C] one with the co-op body and the kookaburra.
So we had two to go by, because they sound very, very different.
I'm surprised you didn't get Angels in the fingerboard because of the current album.
That would be cheesy, maybe.
A little bit.
And you know, with us, [N]
what was, was.
And now we always move forward.
Of course.
And they really wanted to do the flying birds [G]
inlays.
Yeah.
Well, it's the PRS thing.
That's their thing.
Yeah, of course.
[D]
Just sign it, right?
Obviously.
Yes, please.
[C#]
[A] [D]
[G] Maybe
[G#] we'll do that on the table so it's flat. Yeah.
[D#]
[D]
[A]
I'd just like to insert here,
thank you very, very much to Charlene, Lys and Alex's wife for being so patient
while I took up so much of your husband's time.
I couldn't help it.
It was just so exciting.
It's a few days after he was in here,
and I'm still buzzing with excitement from having met him.
So thank you very much, too.
[N] This has got to be the best day for coming to work I've had ever.
I can't thank you enough.
Oh, my pleasure.
Thank you.
Thank you.
All right, well, folks, that's enough of [E] videoing Alex the poor man.
He's here on holiday.
He's not here to do all this.
[C] But what a generous guy.
See, now, this proves the point.
I've watched all the [E] documentaries.
I've seen all the concert footage.
I've unfortunately never seen the band live in concert.
I just want to say [B] firsthand,
every bit as warm as Alex seems on all the documentaries and stuff he's seen,
he really has been so generous and kind with his time here.
