My name is Billy Joe.
I'm in a high school [Gb] rock and roll band called Green Day,
and I'm here to introduce my new signature model for Gibson.

I grew up listening to sort of a lot of metal.
I loved, I thought Mick Mars [Dbm] was great.
My guitar heroes range from [E] anyone from Eddie Van Halen to Chuck Berry to Angus Young.
And then there were different people, anyone from Mick Jones of The Clash to Johnny Thunders,
Keith Richards.
I just think that the Les Paul Jr.
is by far the coolest guitar.
I think the main inspiration was to do something of [Gb] a mix between my first guitar
and my next [E] other favorite [Gbm] guitar is my Les [D] Paul Jr.
So [A] that was basically it.
[E] I just wanted something that was classic, you know, at the same time as trying to do something
subtle that would be something a little bit more modern.
So the new guitars have a wide range of colors and flavors.
This one is a blue, and then I have [Eb] the Maraschino Cherry, [A] and [G] then black.
[D]
[A] I'm [E] super stoked on this guitar.
I think it's really built just [A] to rock [D] out on.
I [E] like to keep [C] things sort of a blank canvas [A] also when it comes to a guitar, hence why it's this [D] two-tone color.
[C]
And [E] I think people, like if kids want to sticker it, carve in it, paint it themselves, put their own identity to it,
that's what I always did with my guitars, and that's what I was always inspired in the punk scene,
the way I saw guys kind of do battle.
But it's like guitars are not something you're [Em] meant to be afraid [Ab] of.
I think a lot of [G] people pick up the [Gb] guitar and they go, ah, it's like a, you know, it's like, let's [E] beat on it.
That's what [Em] [E] rock and roll is supposed to be about.
