[G] [A] Hey, what's up you guys Marty Schwartz here Guitar Jams.com
Got a nice easy strumming pattern for you with a few chords one bar chord
So this is a great song if you've been playing kind of getting out of the super beginner stage
So I'm gonna work on that rhythm and the chord changes also have a bunch of you know lesson programs at Guitar Jams
Calm oh you can click the link below down there and check some of that stuff out.
I appreciate it
But anyway, let's get to the lesson here.
We go all right.
You're gonna see these chords over and over in easy acoustic
Genre, we're playing an A major chord a G chord, and there's a few different ways to play G
We're gonna play it like this middle finger on the third here
Index on the second there
Ring finger on the third of the B and pinky on the third of the high E right there [G] like this
Which will transition nicely?
[A] To the D chord because the ring finger right here is already where it needs to be so we can use that
That's like a little pivot point
Boom to get over [D] here.
[A] We got a
[G] G [A] [D] D
[A]
[G] [D] [Em] And in the simplest terms rhythm [A] wise you'd be going one two three four
one two [G] three and
[D] D two three four
two [G] three and
Back [A] to the G's we got
[G] [D]
[G] [A] Two three four one two [G] three [D] and
Four one two [G] three [A] and
[G] [D]
[G] [A]
Okay [F#m]
the other section is
And I'm still gonna show you a rhythm to work on but the other section is this bar chord right here
Which is called F sharp minor and you're barring the second fret and you're putting your ring finger a
Whole step higher and your pinky a whole step higher, so it kind of looks like your index finger is the capo
And you're playing an E minor
chord so you do [Am] that [D]
and
Transition to a D.
[A] This is a good bar chord practice [F#m] right here
So [D] [F#] [D]
[F#m] [D] [A]
[G] [D]
[A] now let's get some nice tasty acoustic strumming going here
So the first thing I do is a down strum and then the next down strum is like a muted sound
[C#]
See [A] that
Next I'm doing an up down so
Yeah
And so you can repeat that and that's really good practice
[G] [A] And
So finally when you get to that time for the G.
You don't do the Chuck you just do an up [G] [A] So
[G] So be one up on the a one up on [A] the G
Same
[G] [D]
rhythm.
[G] [A] I [G] [D]

[G] [A]
[G] [D]
[Em] [F#m]
[Em] [D] [F#]
just keep this rhythm [D] straight
And [F#m]
[D] [F#m]
[Em] [D] on that bar chord, which I remember being very difficult for me
You really want to the closer?
The fingers are together for instance.
I'm using my middle finger
To help press my index finger down, and so I'm using the strength of two fingers together there
And then also when I'm doing this They're not
Separate they're actually like glued [F#] together and the same thing
I'm using the pressure of both the strength of both fingers together
And then I'm also using a lot of the strength in my thumb as I'm squeezing it together
But these are all little details that will help especially the your fingers being together
it's the [F#m] strength of two fingers together and
Your hand kind of works this stuff out the more you play it figures it [F#] out
But that was something I was thinking about [F#m] recently that I thought was at least worth
Mentioning right so have fun with that all right that was a lesson.
Hope you enjoyed it
