[G] [C] [B]
[G] This is the guitar lesson for Bob Seger, still the same, the [Bb] easy way and the correct way.
Let's talk about the intro, okay?
Make a C and what we're going to do is we're going to first take our pointer finger off,
okay?
[Abm] And we're going [C] to go
So down with our pointer finger off, down strum, and then put your pointer finger on
making a C, okay?
And take it off again.
[Em] E minor,
[G] a G.
I'm just strumming my E minor and my G once, okay?
So watch very closely, okay?
[C]
Now I take my pinky and I put it on the B string on the third fret.
[Em]
Now to the A minor.
[G]
All right, this is how I strum it [Bb] personally, okay?
Watch very closely, I'm going to slow it down [C] for you.
[Em]
[G]
[C]
[Em]
[G] I fudged up that [N] last part a little bit, but if I turn my guitar this way, all I'm doing
is I have a C and I either have my pointer finger on or off, or I have my pinky on the
third fret or off at the B string, okay?
[C] So you got a [N] C, you take [C] your pointer finger off, so you get that sound, [Bbm] [C] and then you put
your pinky on it to get that sound.
That's the whole still the same riff, okay?
So
[Em]
And E minor, [G] and G.
All right, and so [N] this song starts off and you're going to hear that, we'll call that
the home chord progression or the home riff throughout when we play this song, okay?
So it starts off and it goes, you've always [Bb] won every time you placed a bet.
So [C] we go
[Em] [G]
Watch very slowly, [Fm] I'm going to break it [C] down and play it slow so you can get the strumming pattern.
[Em]
[G]
[C]
[Em]
[G]
[N] The next part [F] is
Every time [G] they were sure that you'd [C] land a call, you [E]
were quicker than [Am] you thought.
[Dm] [G] [Bb]
[N] All right, so we'll call that the pre-chorus, okay?
So it's [F] every time they [G] were sure that you had [C] caught, so that's F, G, C, I'm on C right
[E] now, then E7, you were quicker than they, and on [G] thought you [Am] go to A minor.
[F] It was an E7, so it's an E, and I take my pinky and I put it on the third fret [E] B string.
You were quicker than [Bbm] they, then [A] A minor, thought.
[G] All right, then D minor, [Dm]
you just turn your back [Bb] and walk, and on walk, we play G, but
we do this little, it's kind of like a walk down, okay?
So watch.
So I'll start off with the D minor, okay?
So you just turn your back [Dm] and walk.
All [G]
right, so what I do is I strum through G first, then I take these two fingers off
and I put my pointer on the first fret E [Gm] string, all right?
And then I take my [E] pointer finger off and I pluck this guy open, [N] and I still leave these
two fingers [Em] on there, so, [N] and then I [D] pluck the D open.
[G] So it should sound like, [Bb] [G]
[D]
[Gm] there we go, I pluck the D string open, [F] all right?
And then we go back into our home riff, [C] okay?
So
[Em]
[G]
[C] [Em]
all [G]
[F] [G]
[C] [E]
right, [Am] we go to A minor, [Dm] D minor, little [G] walk down, all [Eb] right?
[Bb] And then for the rest of the [Em] song, that's it [N] over and over again, okay?
You have your home [Em] riff, [C] [Em]
[G]
not bad, [Gb] and then you have the other part, which is the pre-chorus
leading [Bb] into the home riff again, which is the chorus, [F] so.
F, [G] [F] I'm sorry,
[G] [C] C,
[E] E7, [Am] A minor,
[Dm] A minor 7, [G]
[Bb]
[Em] back into your home riff.
[C]
[Em] [N] All right, and the strumming pattern for the pre-chorus part, [F] let's go over that really
quick, so I'll play it very slowly, so.
[G]
[C]
[E]
[Am] [Dm]
Down, down, up, up, down, [G] up, and then our walk down.
[F] [G] [E]
[Gm] [Ab]
[G] All right, not bad, not really a hard song to learn how to play, [F] just know your chords
and go through the lesson and you'll get the chord progression down.
