[E]
you guys?
Marty Schwartz here from GuitarJams.com.
Hope you guys are rocking out there.
I'm feeling good.
I'm going to show you an awesome rock song and you can basically play it with one shape
as you saw me doing that intro.
I'm going to show you some variations too because it's kind of more of an electric guitar
song but this is just a great song to be able to play with one chord shape.
It's really fun to be able to do that anytime and there's not a lot of instances where we
can so this will be a very fun one to do.
Also if you want to really check out Guitar Jams and all those lessons that I have step
by step guides to really turn you into a guitar player, you can try the website out for free
for two whole weeks in a link down there below this box.
I really appreciate that extra support.
Bing!
Anyway, let's zoom in right now.
We'll start rocking out.
Here we go.
Woo!
Ready to have some 70's rock fun.
Now check this out.
It's an electric guitar song.
The chords are still the same though but this is a fun one especially if you're a beginner
because you can start rocking out and just use one chord shape for almost the entire
song except for this little bridge but people forget about the bridges anyway.
So anyway, we're going to start with an E major chord.
That's the first one you're going to need.
Then
[Em] if we, let's say for instance, we're looking at our index finger right [E] now with
that E shape that's on the first fret, I could just count that up to where that ends up on
the sixth fret [A] and you still can strum all the strings.
[E] So
[A]
[D] [E]
it's first fret which is an E chord.
[A] Then the sixth fret which [E] this is an A, it's an A major chord but we still got the E in the bass.
[Em] So it would look like E slash, I'm sorry, let me do that again.
The chord would be called A slash E or A over E.
Then we scoot that index finger up to where it would be on the eleventh fret which is
[D]
D slash E because the E is still in the bass. Same shape.
[E]
Then finally back to E.
So you got E chord,
[A] A over E,
[E] D over E, back to the E.
[A]
[E]
Okay.
Now, you could do power chords like if you're playing electric guitar.
The E power chords right here, seventh fret on the A string, [B]
[E] nine on the D.
You got a pinky to the nine of the G, put that low E in there, right?
Just like that.
[C] [A] Then that A chord right there.
So that's [E] the same.
Then a D power chord which is just the same thing as D down a whole [D] step, back [E] up to E.
So that's just more of a rock and roll electric guitar way.
[A] [E] [D]
[E]
Then you know the verses.
[A]
[Dm]
[E] So if I'm going one [B] and two and three and four and one and one and two and three and
four and one and two and three [E] and four and I'm just trying to just hear the ups.
[A]
[Dm] [E]
Go back to the original way.
Here we go.
Hollywood nights, you [A] shine in the dark.
[D] I'm standing on the line.
[E] There's a little light.
I'm the light of the street.
Oh, [Bm] I brought some ACDC songs.
Yeah.
[E] I mean, yeah.
[A] [E]
Okay.
Another thing that you could do if you wanted is you could play E,
suss it up with adding that pinky to the second fret of the G.
Or you could [F#] just play a straight up A chord if [E] you want.
[A]
[D] Then D and back [E] to E.
You could do that.
[A]
[D]
So [E]
[G#m] the little bridge is [D] just a D and [A] then A chord and [E] then E chord without that pedaling
on the E note.
Finally the bass player gets to play a different note other than that one note he's playing
for 99% of the song.
So have fun with that.
That's a quickie.
It's real fun though to be able to [A] play that.
Same [E] shape.
Without having to do a thing.
We like it.
Alright.
Thanks for hanging with me.
Hope you had fun rocking with One Chord Shape.
I know I did.
Makes my job easy.
Anyway, you can try the website out for two weeks in that link down there below this box.

Stick with it.
Keep inspired.
Have fun.
Keep listening.
And we'll see you again later.
