For me, I fell in love with music when I [F#m] was just a little girl.
[E] I can remember [A] singing these duets with my dad around the house, and he was just [C#m] instilling
this joy [E] within me.
[A] And then there was my mom, not so musical, but she would [F#m] always hum and sing these sweet
[E] hymns around the kitchen.
[A] And I can remember those songs because they were [F#m] always pointing me to Jesus.
[E] From there, I [A] started singing in church.
[C#m] I was a part of different teams and different [F#m] choirs, and I was writing.
[E] And then in my early [A] 20s, I decided that I wanted to pursue pop music as my career.
[F#m] I was writing lots.
I was [E] playing lots of shows, talking with [A] different labels.
I always had [E] this unsettled feeling within my heart.
It was almost like I knew [A] I wasn't doing what God was calling me to do, but I was [A] still doing it.
I failed [E] time and time again.
[A] No matter what I did [E] or how hard I worked in the music [A] industry, I wasn't able to [E] make it.
But then, [A] in my late 20s, [E] I heard this clear direction from [A] God telling me to pursue worship
[E] music and to write only [A] for the church.
So [E] that's what I've been doing.
I've been [A] writing songs, I've been leading worship, and I've been traveling.
It's almost like this [C#m] has come full circle for me, [F#m] from when I was just a little girl
listening [C#m] to my mom [Em] hum and sing these hymns, pointing me to Jesus, and now I [F#] get to lead
people into worship and [E] point them to Jesus.
[A] In Jesus, the broken [C#m] are made whole, the [F#m] lost become found, and all our needs are met.
[Em] Growing up, I wanted to pursue this music career so badly, [F#] but it wasn't until I handed
it all over to [E] the Lord that He [A] fulfilled these dreams [Em] for me.
Another dream I [E] had when I was just a teenager was to marry [A] a worship leader, and I never
thought that that would [E] happen.
I guess I just forgot that God heard my prayers, and He is [A] the God who answers them.
[E] And He gifted me Steve.
Together, Steve and I get to lead worship, [A] side by side, and we [E] get to point people to Jesus [A] together.
It's just the most [E] special thing.
My [A] story is [E] about God answering my prayers.
He's given me more than I could ever [F#m] ask or hope for, and He's [A] given me more than I could ever need.
So that's why I [E] worship.
Out of the [F#m] outpouring of what God has done in my [A] life, my hope is that other people would
experience Jesus [E] the same way.
So [F#m] I'm going to spend the rest of my life, [A] through my songs, my voice, and my worship
[E] I'm going to point people [F#m] to Jesus.
