Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus - Piano Tutorial -Congregational Pattern by I Dissect Music chords
Start Jamming...
[Db] [Ab] This is Tony Jones from I Dissect Music.
We want to dissect a traditional [Cm] walk pattern.
[G]
Can't Nobody Do It Like Jesus [N] also applies to This Little Light of Mine and songs of that nature.
I'm going to start off playing it a little slow so you can [C] get a feel for it if we [Ab] went
[Db] Can't [B] [Ab]
[Gb] nobody [Ab] do [Bm] it [Ab] like [Eb] [Fm] Jesus.
[F] Don't care, nobody [Abm] [Db]
do [D] it [Eb] like the Lord.
[Ab] Let me [Cm] get up to that point.
[E] Now, let's start [C] off this traditional [Ab] walk.
We're going to do it in the key of A flat, which is the traditional key for gospel songs.
[Bb] We're going to start off with the single note [Ab] A flat.
Can't.
And then we're going to [Bbm] [Dm] go
Nobody.
[Ab] [Eb] So we're going to do a little walk after that.
[C] Can't.
That there is an A flat 7 chord.
F sharp, [Ab] C, E flat, A flat, C bass.
So can't.
[Db] No.
That's a D flat 7 chord in this third inversion.
B, D flat, F, A flat, D flat [D] bass.
To a B diminished, which is B, D, F, A flat with a D bass.
[Ab]
Back to the A flat first.
C, E, F, add an A flat.
So [Db] can't.
[Ab] No.
Sorry.
[Db] Can't.
[Dm] No.
[Eb] Bye.
[Fm] And then we're going to hit this two A flats with an F [Gb] bass.
And we're going to do a little move here, which is like an F sharp [Ab] chord added [Gb] 9, which is F, B flat, D flat, G flat, and A flat with a G flat bass.
[Db] And then we're going to do a little D [G] flat second inversion [Gb] with a G [Ab] bass, which is A [Db] flat, D flat, F and A flat.
[Ab] Back to the A flat chord with the octave.
A flat, C, E flat, A flat with the A flat bass.
So can't.
So we're going to go [Bbm] can't.
[Dm] [Ab] Nobody.
[Gb] [Db]
[Ab] Then [Bbm] we're going to say, [D] give me life [Ab] Jesus.
[C] A flat first we played before.
C [Bbm] bass.
B flat minor first inversion with a D flat [D] bass.
Then a D diminished 7th, D, F, [F] A flat and B with a D [Ab] bass.
A flat second inversion.
E flat, A flat, C, [Eb] E flat bass.
[A]
Then we're going to do like 13 chords, which is G, D [Gbm] flat and G flat with an [Fm] A bass.
That's a G flat, C and F with an [A] A flat.
So [Fm] then [Am] we're going to say G flat, C and E with D [F] basses.
And K, that's F, C and E flat with D flat bass.
K and then the bass is going to go F.
[Abm]
Then I'm playing a B6, B, E flat, G flat and A flat.
Then the bass [Bb] goes to B flat.
[E] So [Gb] when we go [F] [Abm] can't.
[Bb]
[Db] Nobody.
Then I'm just going to, when I get to the D flat bass, I'm dropping the G flat to the F.
Everybody, back [Abm] to F.
Back to the B6, A flat bass, [Bb] D flat bass.
[Db] Back to the flat 5, D flat bass.
[Dm] Do me like, that's the B diminished that we went over before the D bass.
[Ab] Like the Lord, A flat first, E flat bass.
Then we're going to do a [Eb] little passing chord, which is, this pretty much is a E flat [Db] augmented 7th,
which is D flat, F, B, sorry, D flat, [Eb] G, B and E flat with E flat bass.
And then I'm going to go single notes, [F] E flat, F, [Ab] to the A flat chord with the octave, A flat bass.
Can't.
Then I'm going to go back to that A flat 7th, beginning of the song.
No C bass.
[Db] Body, back to that B flat 7th chord, D flat bass.
[Dm] Body.
Back to that B diminished, [Ab] D bass.
Back to the A flat first, E flat bass, and the bass is going to go E [Db] flat, C to the C.
When you get to the [C] C, that's a B flat diminished, which [Bbm] is B flat, [C] D flat, E, F and B flat.
Do me [E] like, to the E bass, [Fm]
Jesus, and [C] there's [Fm] a C, E flat, F and A flat.
And let's come [Ab] out of it.
[C] A flat first, C [Bbm] bass, we went over this before, B flat minor first, [D] D bass, D diminished [F] 7th, we [D] went over D bass, [Ab] E, that's an A flat 2nd.
We went over [Eb] with an E flat bass, bass is going [Ebm] to go to F [F] sharp.
Then down to the F, when you get to the F you play an E flat diminished 7th, E flat, G flat, A and C.
[Ab] So, [Db] [D] [Ab] E, [F]
[A] A bass, [Bb] back to that D diminished 7th, B flat bass, [D] D bass.
[Bbm] Back to that B flat minor first, E flat bass, [G] G bass.
[Ab] Then the A flat first, A flat bass, then we're going to do a little move.
[Dbm] [Ab]
That's an E flat and A flat, A flat and G flat on the left.
And then the only thing [Ebm] that's going to move is the 2 we're going to hit.
Half [D] steps down, [Dbm] half steps down, and [Ab] half steps down.
Then [Eb] let's do a passing chord and go back into the song, which is the E flat augmented D flat, B and E flat augmented 7 with the E flat bass.
So the whole thing sounds like this.
[Ab] [Bbm]
[B] I'm going to [Ab] do it slow.
[Gb] [Db] [Ab]
[Bbm] [Ab] [Eb] [C] [F]
[Bb] [F] [Ab] [Db]
Do [D] [Eb] [Ab]
it [Db] [D] [Ab]
[A] tight.
[Eb] [Db] [Eb] [Fm]
[Bbm] [Bm] [Ab] [F] [Bb]
[Eb] [Ab] [D] [Db] [Ab] That's the song.
And then you can also do, what did I say, can't nobody do my Jesus, what else John?
Jesus [B] [Ab] on the main
[Ebm] [Abm]
[Ebm] [Cm] [Ab]
[Ebm] [D] [Ab] line.
[C] [Fm] [Bb]
[Ab] [F] [Gm] [Ab] Yep.
So that's the congregation [Am] [A] pattern that we use.
God [N] bless.

To a B diminished, which is B, D, F, A flat with a D bass.

Then a D diminished 7th, D, F, [F] A flat and B with a D [Ab] bass.
A flat second inversion.

[A] _
_ Then we're going to do like 13 chords, which is G, D [Gbm] flat and G flat with an [Fm] A bass.
_ That's a G flat, _ _ C and F with an [A] A flat.
So [Fm] then [Am] we're going to say G flat, C and E with D [F] basses.

K and then the bass is going to go F.
_ [Abm] _
Then I'm playing a B6, B, E flat, G flat and A flat.

Then we're going to do a [Eb] little _ _ passing chord, which is, this pretty much is a E flat _ [Db] augmented 7th,
which is D flat, F, _ B, sorry, D flat, [Eb] G, B and E flat with E flat bass.

No C bass.
[Db] Body, back to that B flat 7th chord, D flat bass.
[Dm] Body. _
Back to that B diminished, [Ab] D bass.
Back to the A flat first, E flat bass, and the bass is going to go E [Db] flat, C to the C.
When you get to the [C] C, _ _ that's a B flat diminished, which [Bbm] is B flat, [C] D flat, E, F and B flat.
Do me [E] like, to the E bass, [Fm] _
Jesus, and [C] there's [Fm] a C, E flat, F and A flat.
And let's come [Ab] out of it.
_ [C] A flat first, C [Bbm] bass, we went over this before, B flat minor first, [D] D bass, _ D diminished [F] 7th, we [D] went over D bass, [Ab] E, _ that's an A flat 2nd.
We went over [Eb] with an E flat bass, bass is going [Ebm] to go to F [F] sharp.
_ _ Then down to the F, when you get to the F you play an E flat diminished 7th, E flat, G flat, A and C. _ _
[Ab] So, [Db] _ [D] [Ab] E, _ [F] _
[A] A bass, [Bb] _ back to that D diminished _ 7th, B flat bass, [D] D bass.
[Bbm] _ Back to that B flat minor first, E flat bass, [G] G bass.
[Ab] Then the A flat first, A flat bass, then we're going to do a little move.
[Dbm] _ [Ab] _ _
That's an E flat and A flat, A flat and G flat on the left.
And then the only thing [Ebm] that's going to move is the 2 we're going to hit.
Half [D] steps down, [Dbm] half steps down, and [Ab] half steps down.
Then [Eb] let's do a passing chord and go back into the song, which is the E flat augmented D flat, _ B and E flat augmented 7 with the E flat bass.
So the whole thing sounds like this.
_ _ [Ab] _ _ [Bbm]
[B] I'm going to [Ab] do it slow.
_ [Gb] _ [Db] _ _ [Ab] _ _
[Bbm] _ [Ab] _ _ [Eb] _ [C] _ _ [F] _ _
_ [Bb] _ _ [F] _ [Ab] _ _ [Db] _
