Hi there, welcome to Patty Kusterock's 365 Days of Fiddle Tunes.
Today is day 19
and I am once again in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, flying home to
Winnipeg today.
I'll get home later tonight so it's gonna be a long day in
the airports and on the planes.
So I figured I was just teaching up in Fort
Simpson, some wonderful young students there and all through the north here.
It's amazing that the fiddle programs are happening and all these young people
playing the fiddle.
It's really [G#] heartwarming to see.
And there was a
young man by the name of James that was so keen and such a great player and such
a nice boy and he played Reg Bovette's version of the Red River Jig like crazy.
Really played it well and he wanted to learn the other version which I call the
Annie DeJarles version that I know it as.
So I figured for today's tune I'd send
it out to James and I'd play, I'd start out with the Annie DeJarles version and
then segue into the Reg version after.
So here's the Red River [F#m] Jig.
