When [F] people ask Wayne and I all the time,
[G]
Can you [Cm] maybe come play at our theater, our performing arts center,
maybe our college or a festival or something like that, me and Wayne always [Am] say, well sure [A] we can,
just give us a call and we're [G] not near as expensive as [C] we look.
So just, [A] I don't know why they find [G] that so funny.
Well, [Bb] we are really honored to be here,
you know to honor [C] Doc and I'll tell [B] a couple more little things [A] about Doc from
[C] that I remember because like Wayne was mentioning about the chair, Doc could do [B] most anything and
[A] I remember that in that music store [G] my dad sold pianos and organs as well, and we were all sitting in there
I know that [D] was just a young kid.
We were playing music one day
I think my dad had sold a piano or an organ something like that and [G] and
Doc overheard my dad say I've got to find somebody to help me deliver this piano and Doc said well
I'll do so they loaded up in the truck and they [D] took off and
and I wish you could [Em] sing the expression on the [C] people's faces when my dad was backing into the house with the piano and Doc
Watson was on [D] the other end and
[B] at that point I don't think [G] they care where they put the piano down [A] or anything, but
somebody [G] in Watauga County has that memory [A] and
the [Bb] other thing Wayne and Doc had come in on [G] Christmas Eve and play guitars and
that always made my [F] dad happy because one Christmas Eve he sold 21 guitars, [A] so I
Guess they thought [D] he could go home [A] and and play like Doc, but uh
Wayne let's do a [D] another tune here that [E] uh I'd like to hear you do some
[C]
thumb kicking on there right [Eb] there
Let's do a little something I've been doing with Doc up the last couple years you want to do a [F] little freight train one time
Would you [C] mind doing that?
Thank you.
We always love to hear Doc play this song
