Thank you all so much.
I'd like to say one more thing before we [C] do our last song for our part of the evening [F] here.
Like I said, we'll be [D] back out to play a couple more later.
But I would like to just [G] say this.
I was so blessed to have the opportunity to play music with Doc,
but I was even more blessed to have him as a friend pretty much my entire life.
[Am] I've said this two or [Fm] three times since Doc [C] passed.
As a musician, [Fm] being able to play all these places and everything,
but I think probably the highest compliment a musician can [D] ever have is if you're on stage with Doc Watson
and he looks over and says, play it, [F] son.
That was always one of my favorite things.
So it really is [Eb] an honor for me to be here tonight, and I just wanted to say [Ab] that.
Me too, and probably everybody else here too.

[N]
Doc is a wonderful friend to all of us, and that's what, like Jeff says,
everybody knows what a wonderful musician and all that,
but he was a wonderful country gentleman.
And [C] we showed that when he'd come over to the shop [F] and hang out with us,
same as anybody else, you know.
Pretty cool that we got to [F] do that.
So this is a tune I certainly learned about every lick that I know from Doc
and one of his [C] old tunes,
[C] and we just had a great time and [N] appreciate the opportunity to come here and pick for you all.
And like I say, you're certainly welcome up to my place.
It's a little bit cooler up there, but not much, you know,
than up on the mountain where I live in Grayson County, Virginia.
I guess everybody here knows where that is, and there's people here from Grayson.
I know [C] there's one.
I saw him backstage.
[N] In a town of seven people, we can't leave all at the same time
because we have to take turns of being the preacher, mayor, schoolteacher, town drunk, and all [F] that stuff.
And [C] so it's bad on everybody when I'm gone for a day or two.
Well, [N] Jeff wanted me to tell about the, I mean, there ain't but seven people,
and that's, you know, not much goes on,
but Jeff asked me to talk about that there's one young lady in that community,
as small as it is, that's got, you know what I mean, got a bad reputation.
And our preacher ran into her over in the grocery store the other day,
and he went right up there and said, you know what, young [D] lady?
And he said, I prayed for you for two hours the other night.
She said, well, preacher, you just got on the phone.
I could have been there in ten minutes.
[F]
So thank you all.
