And then, as salvation has died down, I should play another.
How'd you get into playing this stuff?
Where'd you first hear it?
[G#] Well, I first heard the best of it, I heard from my grandmother walking around the house,
and, you know, [N] singing tunes.
And when I got to playing fiddle, you know,
I went to go to a music store that was a condition.
My auntie put me under the floor to buy it for me.
And she bought me a fiddle, and I went to music, and it was that bar and bar and bar,
and then I handed on bluegrass a little bit, and I said, ah, that's good, but I can't play it,
because I suck at fiddle, remember.
And she'd tell me about all the tunes she heard,
and her father, how he played, and all that stuff.
And I started asking her.
She was from, you were from California, but she was from Louisiana?
She is from north Louisiana.
She was born in Casper, Louisiana.
And she'd sang me, the first real tune I remember her singing was The Mine Reef Blues by Charlie Patton.
And then after she kind of got me started, you know, I went on to discover things on my own, most of it on my own.
She was my first break into it.
Well, would you play, would you play a [F#] guitar?
Oh, sure, sure.
I don't know, some pretty young [G] lady just carelessly left this thing aside,
and it's beautiful.
Now, I think [C] I'll take it home.
You might have to fight me.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, she's still here, you know, I can't see so good.
What [E] you want, you want to hear anything in particular?
I love, I love that ragtime stuff, but [F#] anything you want to play is fine with me.
Anything [G#] sounds good.
Uh, I see.
