Okay, so let's talk about baritone ukuleles and how you can string them and tune them
in various ways.
Because of the relatively [E] large size of the sound box and the nice long scale length,
it seems to give us lots of options.
So [D] traditional, normal baritone ukulele tuning is D, G, B, E.
[G] [Em] Same as the smallest four strings of a guitar.
Very rich [C] sound.
[G]
[C] [F] [G]
[C] [B] Another way that it can be tuned is like a regular ukulele, G, C, E, A.
[G] We just have to use a special set of strings.
[C] So that's G, C, E, A with a low [G] G.
[Cm]
[C] [D] [F]
[C] [F]
[C]
[Bb] [C] [F]
[C] And let me pause the video quick and switch one string on my baritone and we'll get another
one for you.

Okay, a couple more ways to tune your baritone uke.
This is still D, G, B, E, but [A] I've replaced the wound D string [G] with an unwound smaller
string so that I can have what's called a re-entrant tuning.
So that this string is high like most ukuleles are.
So high D, G, [Em] B.
[C] [G]
[C]
So it's got this nice low pitch and the [B] normal baritone chords and fingerings, [D] but because
of this higher string here, it has [Gm] a little more of the brilliance and sparkle of a [E] smaller ukulele.
Another [Bm] thing I do quite a bit is I take my E [D] string and tune it down to D.
[G] So I have D, G, B, and another D.
So this is pretty similar to four of the five strings from a five string banjo tuning.
So I can play my banjo songs pretty easily.
[D] [G]
So there's just four of the options for your baritone uke.
