[B] Hey, what's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz here with Marty Music.
Really appreciate your support, you guys.
Marty Music means the world to me.
Thank you.
Gonna break down this brand new country or newish country classic for you guys.
You got any requests, you can leave them in the comments below.
Let's break it down.
First things first, capo on the fourth fret.
And it's all kind of this G-folky kind of vibe.
So we're gonna play a G chord.
And I'm doubling up here, ring on the third of the B, pinky on the third of the high E there.
So we got that.
And then we've got this one, two, three, one, two, three kind of [G#] rhythm.
So I'm going down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down,
down.
[B]
We're gonna do a little walk down.
So middle finger's gonna come off, index is gonna move over to the second fret of the
low E there.
So you've got [F#] [B]
[G#m] then E minor with these two fingers, but you're just gonna keep those fingers there.
You'll see that in Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd a lot here.
[B] So you have that one next.
So G,
[F#] walk down, [G#m] E minor.
[F#] And then it's a D chord, but we're gonna play it as a C shape up a whole step.
So I'm gonna call that D, it's a D add nine.
They can function as substitutes for each other.
So that's a D.
[B] So we get this.
[G#m]
Oh, and you can kinda break up that rhythm down, up, up, down, up, down, up, down, up,
down, up, [C#] down, up, down, you know.
You can add extras and take some of [B] them away.
[G#m]
But you'll just wanna [B] think,
One, two, three, one, two, three, one, two, three, [G#m] one, two, three, one, two, three, [F#] one,
two, three, one, [E] two, three.
Then we go, we just slide that down to a regular C.
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3.
And for [A#] all of the song except for the very first time,
[E] it's C, 2, 3, C, 2, 3, C, 2, 3, C, 2, [F#] 3, D, 2, 3, D,
[B] down into the chorus.
But the very first time, it's a shorter C.
So here would be the first verse.
[G#m]
[F#] [E]
[F#] And [G#] now we [B] go regular.
[F#] [G#m]
[F#] [E]
[F#]
[B] And then we would get to the chorus.
Starts the same way as the verse,
and then takes a little turn.
So here's the chorus.
[F#]
[G#m] So this is all the [F#] same.
That's the same.
[E] Now C, up [F#] to D, then [B] the [F#] G, walk [G#m] down to E minor,
hold on E minor, [E] C, [F#] E,
[B] then the top.
And it just holds on the G.
So let's do the second verse into the chorus right now.
Here we go, second verse.
[F#] [G#m]
[F#] [E]
[B] D.
Now we're going to do the chorus.
[B]
[F#] [G#m] Now
[B] [E] C, the G, the [F#] D, D, [B] G, classic walk [G#m] down, E minor,
E minor, [E] C,
[F#] then [B] back to G.
[D#] [C#m] Now there's a bridge.
New chord alert, A minor 7, which is really just,
think of it as a C major chord with that [N] ring finger off.
And we're going to use that same rhythm.
So we're calling this A minor 7.
And then it's got weird names, but just think of it
as that walk up chord.
So the middle finger is just going to transition to the second fret
of the A string.
Then finally a C chord, then back to that walk.
You see, it's just a part of a C walk down.
[C#m] So A minor 7, [B] walk up chord, [E] C, [G#m] the walk down chord, [C#m]
A minor,
[E] walk up chord, C walk [F#] up, D.
[B]
[C#m] So that's what you get.
[B] [E] [B] [E]
[B] [N] And any time the C up a whole step, any time you want,
you could play [F#] a regular [E] D.
[F#]
[E] [B] [N] And in fact, there's more than one guitar on the song,
and another guitar is playing a more traditional thing.
So those are all the parts.
The other thing, there's just an arrangement thing at the end.
You know, he's doing the chorus, but it just goes [C#m] right back
to that little A minor.
[B] [E] It
[F#] gets [Bm] squeezed in there in the chorus, [G] and that's it.
All right, there it was.
Thank you again, you guys.
Really appreciate the support.
