_ Today we're going to learn Fresh by Kool and the Gang on the electric guitar. _ _
The guitar is tuned standard, E-A-D-G-B-E.
We've got a unique strumming pattern we've got to learn, but it won't be too difficult
if we work at it.
_ We're going to be playing [Bm] B minor like this, _ _ G _ [G] like this, _ _ and that's at the 7th fret [D] also,
and then we're going to move up to the [A] 9th fret for an A.
_ _ [B] Now to get a close-up look at these chords, use my chord tutorial link at the bottom of the page.
You can go there, get up on the chords, and then come back and learn the song. _
_ We're going to be starting with that B minor, [A#] strumming it this [Bm] way, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
like that.
So what we're doing is we're trying to get this melody _ all _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
the while strumming in 16th notes.
So this is what [E] we have.
Let's slow it [Bm] down a little bit. _ _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Now I'm holding onto my chord, and every time I need that strike, I'm squeezing here so
I get a sound and muting in between.
_ _ [G] So like that.
Now as you notice, sometimes the pick strikes on the downbeat, and then sometimes it's on the upstroke.
So let's go [F] with that again, and it's going to [Bm] be like this. _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ Just _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ like that.
To go through the whole thing, we're going to be going to B minor, _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
and [C] that's going to
be repeated throughout [Bm] the verses and choruses.
