[Am] Hi [E] and welcome to my tutorial for Love
Potion number 9 on guitar.
The guitar is tuned standard
E, A, [D] D, G, [E] B, E.
We'll start with the intro and for the intro we'll put our hand into
an A minor shape [Ab] and we're going to play only the D, G, and B strings [Am] for that chord.
But
what we'll do is we'll take that shape, go back a half step, this finger's going to come
off the fretboard and we're going to strike it [Abm] and slide into the A minor like this.
[Am] You
see that?
So I had to bring this finger onto the fretboard like that to get that effect.
[E] And then I'm going to go up here to a D minor chord and do the same thing with it.
The D
[Dm] minor's here, right?
[E] So we're going to go to D flat minor [Dm] and slide into that one.
So
here we go.
[Am] [Dbm]
[Dm] 4, 3, [Am] 4, 2, 3, [Dm] 4.
[Am] Next [Dm]
[C] we'll go into the beginning of the song and that's
going to be C, [Am] A minor, [Dm] D minor, [D] E, strike it, [Am] A minor.
And the strumming throughout
is just going to be a down, up, down, down, up, down, down, up, down, just like that.
[C]
[G] [Am]
[Eb] Next we're going to do the full verse and we're going to do this next verse without
the intro.
It's going to sound like this with an A minor at the beginning going to a D minor.
[Am] So it's A, D [Dm] minor, [Am] A minor, [Dm] D minor, [C] C, [Am] [Dm] D minor, [Gb] E.
2, 3, [Am] 4.
[Dm] [Am]
[Dm] [C] [Dm]
[E] [Am]
Next we'll go to the bridge and the bridge will sound like [Dm] this.
[B]
[Dm] [E]
[Dm] For the bridge, we're going to go to D minor, B [B] major, [Dm] D minor, [E] E.
2, 3, 4.
2, [Am] 3, 4.
Back
to the song.
[Dm] [N] Next is our ending and our ending [B] will involve us going to the [Am] A minor, [Dm] D minor,
[Am] A minor, [Dm]
3, [A] 4 and then we'll play.
[Am]
So that was A minor, D minor, A minor, D minor, A
[Dm]
minor, [Am] [Dm] [D] Love Potion [A] Number 9.
[Am] [Dm]
[Am] [Dm] [A] [Am]
[B] And that's how we're going to play the rhythm and chords
to Love Potion Number 9 on guitar.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
