[E] Hey, what's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz [B] here from GuitarJams.com.
Real happy to bring you another classic rock chord progression right now with a cool little
[Fm] riff in it.
It's really fun.
We're going to zoom in [G] and break it all down.
But real quick, I have my [E] special friend list down there.
[F] It's where you can make a song request [N] as well as I send you bonus features like lessons
that are not on YouTube.
All down in that link down there.
I'll really help you learn guitar.
But anyway, let's get right to this lesson and have some fun.
Here we go.
[Em] Okay, so you're going to need an F sharp minor chord, which [C#] is this bar chord [F#m] right here
where [E] you're barring the second fret and then the ring [Em] finger is on the fourth of the A.
Pinky is on the fourth of the [F#m] D.
You play that whole thing.
So you need that.
[B] You need an A major chord, [A]
which typically, you know, I always play it that way.
But for this song, it's going to help a lot for the little riff to be able to play [E] like
an A power [A] chord or with the one finger.
[Em] My thumb kind of mutes that top E [A] string a bit.
High E [Em] is basically muted by my index finger.
[F#m] So you've got F sharp [A] minor, A, and then [Em] an E major [E] chord.
[Em] And that's going to be the verse and the [F#m] chorus.
[A]
[E] [Em] [F#m] [A]
[E] [F#m] [E]
[B] Down, down, down, up, down, [E] up, down, down, down, [G] up, down, [F#m] up.
[A]
[E] It's just that A chord comes on an [A]
[F#m] offbeat.
[A] [F#m]
[A]
[E] [Em] [F#m]
[A] [E] [F#m]
[A] [E] [F#m]
[A] [E] [F#m]
[A] [E] [F#m]
[A] [E]
There's a little riff I'm going to teach you in a [Em] second.
But the pre-chorus goes like this.
It's a D [D] chord.
[E] Then a B major chord, which [B] looks like this.
[Em] So it's barring that second [E] fret.
And then my ring finger is on the fourth fret as looking [B] like an A chord.
[Em] A really good cheat on that is the B [B] super power chord, which is just two, [F#] [B] four, four,
and the rest is muted.
[D] So check it out.
D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, [B] D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, [Em] D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D,
[F#m] D, D, [A]
[E] [F#m] [A]
[E] [F#m] [A]
[E] [F#m] [A]
[E] [A] [D]
[B]
[F#m] D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D,
[E] Now check out this riff.
So if you've got that going, what you want to do is you're going to [F] play the F [F#m] sharp
minor chord, two downs, [E] and then the second fret on the low E to the fourth [F#] fret.
[G#]
[F#m] See that?
[G#]
[B] Then the A power chord.
[F#m] So see
[G#] [A] [F#m] that?
[G#m] [A]
[E] [F#m]
[G#] [A]
[E] [Em] [F#m] [A]
Now when I go to that A power chord, [N] my thumb's not just there comfortably.
It's there because I'm [E] muting that low E string up here.
[A]
You're not hearing
[Em] You're just not hearing that low [F#m] E.
[A] [E] [F#]
[G#m] [A] [E] [F#m]
[A] [E] [F#m]
[B] [A] [E]
[Em] So there's one bridge, real easy, nothing new.
It's the E chord [E] first.
Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Then an A chord for the same [D#] amount of [A] time.
Then the D [D] chord.
Then [C#] the E [E] chord.
[F#m]
[A] [E] [A]
[Em] [B]
[A] [E] [B] [F#m]
[G#] [A] [C#]
[B] [E] [F#] [E] [B]
[E] [F#m]
[F] Alright, that was it.
Hope you got something from that.
Remember, I have a bunch of extra bonus features down in that link down there.
[C#] I really appreciate all the support.
Thank you so much, and I hope to see you in another video lesson real soon.
Take care.
