Hey, what's up?
Marty Schwartz here teaching [N] this song called Use Somebody here.
Or Use Somebody here.
There's a crazy thunder outside right now.
Hope I don't get zapped into Tron.
Okay, so here's what we need.
We're going to just use a basic E rooted bar chord shape.
Here's what we're [C] going to do.
The first chord is a C major bar chord.
And it's one and two and three and.
You can do all downs.
You can do alternating, but basically it's just.
So I did one and two, and then it's going to go one and two and three and.
Then I'm going to take my first finger off and play the same [E] thing with this low E in there.
Try not to get the [Bm] open B or E string.
[Em] [C]
That's one and two and three and.
Then [F] we take an F bar chord.
[Fm] Just like that.
[C] So that's the first section.
Here it is again.
[Em]
[F]
[C]
[Em]
[F]
And actually at the [C] end of this section of the lesson I'll teach you an open kind of
acoustic way to play it if you only know open chords.
So stay tuned for that, alright?
So basically what I just taught you happens twice.
[F]
[C]
[Em] [F]
[D] And then two more times of another section that's very similar.
I'm going to go up to the fifth fret on the E string and play the bar chord, but my middle
finger is not down.
It's off.
So this looks like an E minor chord.
And this is called an A.
This note's A, so it's an A minor bar chord.
Same rhythm.
[Am]
Up [C] to the eighth fret with the middle finger down.
Back to that F, the first [F] fret.
[Am] [C]
[F]
Just like that.
That's it.
Here are both sections [C] together now.
Ready?
Here we go.
One, two, three, four.
[Em]
[F]
[C] [Em]
[F] Next section.
[Am] [C]

Back [C] to the first part.
[Em]
[F]
Alright, you ready for the super easy open chord [E] section part of the song thingy?
Good.
Alright, so here's what we're going to do.
Take an open C chord and avoid this [C] low E string.
Here we go.
One and two and three and.
Then the next time we do the same thing but we strum it with the open E string.
Check it out.
Then we're just going to go to a regular old F chord [Bb] where what you do, ring finger and
middle finger from the C chord scoot over a string.
That finger stays in the same spot.
We do [F] the same rhythm.
[C] Check it out.
[F]
And when I play the F chord I let my thumb kind of lightly touch the E string so it doesn't
ring out [F] loud. Alright.
[C]
So that's C.
C again but with the low E in there.
And then F for twice as long.
Then the second section of that you're going to play a regular old A [Am] minor chord to [Fm] a C chord.
All you have to do is take your ring finger and move it to the third fret of the A [Am] string.
To the [F] F.
[F] Ah.
[Am]
[C]
[F]
[Am] [C]
