[B] Hey everybody, this is Paul Gilbert and I play the electric guitar and I have an excellent
time doing that every day of my life.
[E]
[G] [E] I'd like to [C#] introduce you to a brand new DiMarzio pickup.
It is the PAF Master.
I love this thing.
It has this note living [N] inside of it.
That's a good note.
I love that note and it has many many more but let me play a little bit to demonstrate what this
pickup will do.
First of all, I really like how dynamic [B] it is.
When I was a kid I used to play loud all the time.
Everything was loud.
And loud sounds good through [F#] this pickup.
I still do a lot of loud.
I've got no [B] problem with loud.
I like to hit things hard.
This pickup absolutely has a beautiful snarly, thick rocking.
Sounds good with more than one note at the same [G] time.
[D] [A] [C#] It's all good but I also like the quieter side.
[C] [Am] I [E] don't stay quiet for long.
I like to combine a little bit of quiet [Em] with a little bit of loud.
[A] [A] [B]
That's what I like and that is really a nice thing about the way this pickup reacts to my playing and encourages me to play with even more dynamics than I would already.
[A] [C#m]
[F#] [A] [E] [A]
Isn't [N] that nice?
Alright, so that is the DiMarzio PAF Master.
That's in the bridge and the bridge has that rock and roll character.
Again, you can play it with some nice [E] aggressive rhythm.
[A] Lighten it up.
Make room for the other guy to solo a little bit.
He does his thing and you wait your turn.
You get ready.
[D#] Alright, he's done so you listen to what he does.
Well, that was pretty nice Benny.
My turn.
[E]
[A] Back down.
[N] Alright, so those are some good tones out of the bridge PAF Master by DiMarzio.
Alright, let's hear some notes from the neck position of the DiMarzio PAF Master pickup.
I love the throaty tone.
[F#] [A] That's pretty [D] nice.
I really like that.
[B]
On a neck [D#] pickup, you have the danger of it getting too fat.
This has such a nice balance of a full rich tone but the notes [F#] still come through nice and clear.
Such a nice balance.
The high notes [N] sound beautiful too.
Now, I've been playing dynamically a little bit lower than in my heavy metal days.
So, I should crank up a little bit just to see what happens with this new DiMarzio PAF Master pickup in the [F#] neck position.
That [B] sounds pretty good.
[E] [F#]
[B] It does everything that I want.
That's exactly what I wanted.
Sometimes it even gives me more than I want.
[D]
[A] [G#]
I have such a good time with this tone.
You've got to check it out.
Upgrade your electric guitar with the throaty tones of the [G] DiMarzio PAF Master.
Well, it's 2014 and that means I have a brand new album out which is called Stone Pushin' [C#] Uphill Man.
And I had such a good time making this record.
I hope you have a good time listening to it.
I decided to try to play vocal lines on my guitar.
And for inspiration, I took some of [G] my favorite singers like Paul McCartney and Steven Tyler and Sting and Katie Lang and James Brown and covered their tunes and tried to somehow get their vocal things to happen.
And the guitar was my friend.
I was able to get some of these
[D] [N]
So, I [B] kind of used my tapping stuff to get it.
I do that somewhat anyway.
But on this record, I really explored those expressive elements of the guitar.
[D#] I think more than I ever [C] have.
I learned a ton from it and I've just [N] transformed as a musician.
So, I hope you enjoy listening to Stone Pushin' Uphill [A] Man.
