[D] [N] Hey, what's up out there you guys?
Marty Schwartz here with GuitarJams.com.
I'm going to teach you a real nice easy song that I actually learned.
It was one of the first songs I ever learned when I was starting to play guitar, all because
in the liner notes there were little handwritten chords.
So it was before YouTube and the internet and all this crazy stuff where you could just
instantly look up a song.
I mean it was actually harder to do back when I was learning.
But lucky you.
And also real quick, if you are learning, you can sign my friend list down there and
I'll send you a free ebook which has chords and scales and it will help with all these lessons.
So anyway, here we go.
So this song's in actually groups of, counted in groups of three instead of groups of four.
[G]
[D#] So that's pretty much what I'm doing for the whole rhythm.
[F#] So it's down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down,
[A#] down,
[D] down, [F#m] down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down,
[G]
down, [D] [G]
[D] down,
down, down, down, down, down, down, down, [G] down, down, down, down, down, down, [C] down,
down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down,
down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, [G] down, down, down, down, down, down,
[F] So we start with the D [D] chord.
Down, down, up, down, [C] up.
Then we put our pinky down on the third fret of the high E, ring finger stays, middle finger
comes over the third fret of the A string, index finger's second fret of the D.
That's
[G#] called a C add 9 [D] chord.
We have down, up, down, down, up, down, [F#] up, [G] down, down, up, down, up.
Then we just move these two [C#] fingers up [G] a string each, down, and we do the same pattern, but
two of those [B] patterns for G, so [D] watch.
[C] [G]
[D]
Then we go back [C] to the C add 9 for two, back to the G for two.
[D] Check it out.
[G]
[C] [G] Play it with me.
[D] [G]
[C]

[G]
[D] [G]
[C] Different degrees of mellowness [G#m] and intensity.
[A] And basically there's just one other part.
[C] [N] And it's just the same rhythm, and it's an A major [A] chord to [N] a C chord.
Does that a few times, and then it just holds on an E minor chord.
So we have A, C, and E minor are the only other chords.
So we have [A] A, C, G, A.
[C] Two [A] rhythm patterns each.
[C]
[A] [C]
Now E minor [Em] for four of them.
That's it.
So it's [A] A to C.
A, A, [C] C, [A] A, [C] C, [G] [A]
A, [C] C, E [Em] minor.
Right back into the main part.
[D] [C] [G]
[C] Hello.

You get the idea.
[C] I'm dead.
[D]

[C] [G]
[D] [G]
[C] [G]
[N] All right.
Hope you had fun with that.
Nice, easy little song for you.
I guess one of the unusual things about that is that it's in a time signature, 3-4 instead
of 4-4.
But other than that, the chords are really nice and easy.
And the song itself, the written song, is truly awesome.
So that's it.
