Somewhere Over The Rainbow- Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (Ukulele cover by Jenni Popa) chords
Start Jamming...
So today I will be covering a song that reminds me of the magical island of Hawaii that I
actually had the privilege of visiting about three weeks ago, specifically the Big Island.
I drove over to the Kona side, which is where I actually bought my baby.
It was in a cute little shopping area in Kona, right on Ali'i Drive, and I was instantly
attracted to this adorable little ukulele shop called Just Ukes.
In fact, that is where I met this very talented musician.
He's also a performer around the area.
His name is Pancho Nan Kwanoni, and he actually taught me my first song on the ukulele right
then and there, which is the first song that I actually uploaded on here, I'm Yours by Jason Mraz.
That song is actually a pretty easy one to pick up, and the ukulele in itself is not
a very difficult instrument to play.
So if you guys feel drawn to it, you should.
You should totally go buy one and learn how to play it because it is very rewarding and
you guys will be so happy.
You guys will fall in love with it, and I'm sure you guys will love it as much as I do.
So here it is, Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
Hope you guys [G] like it.

[C]
[G] Somewhere
[D] over the rainbow,
[Em] way [C] up high.
The [G] dreams that you dreamed of, [D] once in a
[Em] lullaby.
High, [C]
[G]
somewhere [D] over the rainbow, [Em]
[C] bluebirds fly.
And the [G] dreams that you dreamed [D] of, dreams really do [Em] come true.
[C] So [G] day or wish, tomorrow's dark.
[D] Wake up where the clouds are far [Em] behind.
[C] Me, [G] with troubled nails and limping jaws.
[D] High above the chimney tops, [Em] that's where you'll [C] find me.
[G] Somewhere
[D] over the rainbow, [Em]
[C] bluebirds fly.
And the [G] dream that you dared to, [D] why oh why [Em] can't I?
[C]
Well I see [G] trees [D] of green [Em] and red roses [C] too.
I watch [G] them bloom [Em] for [Bm]
[Em] me and you.
[C] And I think to myself, [D] what a wonderful [G] world.
I see skies [D] of blue and [Em] I see clouds [C] of white and the brightness of [G] day.
[Bm] I like the [Em] dark and [C] I think to myself, [D] what a [G] wonderful world.
[D] The colors of the rainbow, so [G] pretty in the sky.
[D] Are also on the faces [G] of people passing by.
[C] I see friends shaking [G] hands [C] saying, how do [G] you do?
[C]
They're really saying, [D] I love [G] you.
I hear [Bm] babies crying, [Em] I watch them grow.
[Am] They'll learn [G] much more, [Bm]
when then [G] we will know.
[C] And I think to myself, [D] what a wonderful [G] world.
[D] [Em]
[C]
So [G] day or wish, tomorrow's dark.
[D] Wake up where the clouds are far
[Em] behind.
[C] Me, where [G] trouble melts like lemon drops.
[D] High above the chimney tops, [Em] that's where [C] you'll find me.
[G]
Somewhere [D] over the rainbow, [Em]
[C] bluebirds fly.
And the [G] dreams that you dare to, [D] why oh why [Em] can't I?
[C]
[G] [D] ooooooooooo
[Em]
[C]
[D] heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
[Em] [C] heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
hope [G]
