[A]
[Am] Hey, what's up guys?
Back to do a lesson [N] for Subterranean Homesick Blues from Dylan.
The way that I learned it is with a capo at the 5th fret.
And pretty [G#] simple, pretty simple [A] really.
You're going to start with, you're [C#] going to be playing an [C#] E chord, but [G] you're going to
[C#] lift off the whole shape except for your ring finger, [D#] which is going to be at the 2nd fret
from the capo on the D.
[Am] [A]
And [N] actually it only does that in the very beginning, when the
first, when the acoustic guitar [Am] first comes in.
[A]
And when he starts singing, you're going to actually go from [A] an E
to an A.
And you could either kind of like flatten your ring finger, I guess I have the
tendency to do that sometimes, or you could just switch to this A chord with, that actually
sounds really good, with your first two fingers on the D and the G string, 2nd fret.
[E]
Okay, so, [C#] John is in the basement mixing up the medicine, [C] I'm on the pavement.
I don't know if I can sing and play it at the same [A] time.
[G#]
[B] Oh, when he's singing, look out kid, [D] you're going to go to an A.
And I heard something like that.
You're going to be playing the A, sometimes you could just play it straight A like that,
or you can do [C] different things as you go, like [B] add your pinky to the 2nd of the [D] B.
[A] You're going to go back to the E, and then you're going to go to a [E] B7.
[A]
Okay, and [G] that's just about all there is to the song.
You just have to figure out, I guess,
different ways to spice it up, or just pick through the notes a little bit as you go.
[Dm]
[E] [A]
Alright, that's all there is to it.
A big part of this [C] is putting the capo at the 5th fret.
[G]
It's pretty easy, [A] guitar-wise, I mean.
But that's it, alright?
Fairly easy song, you should have no trouble with it.
Alright, take care.
