[N] Hey, what's up guys?
Back to do a lesson for Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat, another song that I learned from Bob
Dylan's Blonde on Blonde album.
I think that there are two guitar parts in this song and the way that I learned Dylan's
part is with a capo at the 5th fret.
So there's like a rhythm part that I kind of looped and I was just like playing a solo over it.
So in the beginning there's a solo and it sounds like he's playing it on a, sounds like
he's playing it like almost on an old dobro or something.
But for the solo, well the chords in the song are going to be, okay so capo at the 5th fret,
it's a standard blues, almost sounds like a Jimmy Reed song or something.
But [A] like this kind of rhythm, rockabilly kind of.
D and [E] then B.
[A] [F#] Oh no, actually when it goes to the B it stays on that B for [E] a minute.
Then back to [A] the E.
[D#] Finish with a.
[E]
So that's like the basic rhythm part and there's another kind of like a lead part going on
that would be something [A] like this.
[D]
[A]
Doing something like that where that's, you're playing the E chord, you play like a full
[E] E chord and still do that kind of rockabilly rhythm with it.
[Am] You flatten your [D] ring finger out to make like an A chord and then do like a [Am] hammer-on with
your first finger.
[A]
[D] And sometimes he'll do kind of like a hammer [A]-on at the, like the second or the D.
[D] [Am]
[Em] [A] And so in the beginning, the solo, the way I figured it is kind of like you're sliding
down to, this is part of an E.
Instead of playing an E chord, this D shape at the 4th
fret is an E chord also.
And you're going to slide down and just play part of this [Am] chord in the beginning in the solo.
[F#] [E]
[Bm] And then jump up to the, you're going to be at the second fret, two high strings and your
second finger on the third of the high E.
Start with your second finger down and lift it off, like a pull-off.
[Gm] [Fm] With your second finger slide from the third to [E] the fifth, [A] back to the third, fifth on the B.
[A] [Am] And then you can play this.
And [E] then
[Am]
back into the E.
[E] This is with a B.
And this is kind of like a B5 chord.
[B] Finish with the.
[G] [A] [B] So for this lick, you're going to be using your second finger and ring finger.
And you're going to come down to the fourth.
You're going to be at the G and the high E [D#] strings.
[C#m] And that [A#] shape down to the third.
[Bm] Second.
[A]
Okay, so.
It's not a real complicated song.
It's just like I said, it's a basic
[E]
blues [C] progression.
So, alright, I hope that, I hope I did a good lesson for this.
I'll talk to you all soon.
