_ _ _ _ [F#m] So, [C#] good readers of guitarists, this is it, this is the Beast.
_ _ Contrary to some of the _ recent _ forums, _ I still own this guitar and [F#] have done since 1974 when
a guy produced it at a gig at the Marquis _ and tuned it [G#] up and said use it for the encore.
I already had said I can't afford it, but he tuned it up for me, I plugged it in and
it was stupendous and as I came off the stage I said how much did you want for it?
And he wanted the princely sum of about £600 for it, which I could not afford.
_ _ And so we did a deal, I'm not going to say what we did a deal for.
_ But I lost a couple of guitars which seemed a lot to me at the time, but I think with
hindsight I probably [G] did the best.

_ _ [N] first time I used this professionally was with _ _ Wild Turkey and then the first time
I used it on TV was with Cozy Pal.
_ This can be seen in the Whitesnake videos and every song on the Whitesnake albums _ is
this guitar if it's me playing.
And I wrote Here I Go Again _ on this guitar.
_ So it's been pretty integral to my career [E] really. _

_ _ _ What can I say about this thing except _ it is what it is.
_ In Joe Bonamassa's _ very words, that thing is sick. _
[G] _ He played it at Hammersmith _ in 2011.
It was the first time I'd ever heard it played in concert.
_ _ _ And it was a weird thing, it was a bit like seeing your _ grown up child singing at a gig really.
And I realised then why people have been saying to me for years, that's a great guitar because
it does sound great.
In the right guy's hands. _
This is the one that Gary Moore said, can I borrow that?
And I loaned him an SG for a long time when he was in Coliseum.
And he said, any chance of using that one?
And I went, no, but I do like to try. _ _
It's got some history, a lot of people have played this guitar. _
Jeff Beck has played this guitar a lot better than I do.
He played Scatterbrain on this guitar in a dressing room in Purley.
_ What a memory I have.
You don't forget things like that.
Steve Lukather's played this guitar and a lot of other people.
_ _ It's pretty much been part of my _ career.
Go back to 74 and then go back up to 15 years ago.
It was pretty much omnipresent, I think that's the word, isn't it?
Something like that.
_ Want to hear it?
Yeah. _ _
