[Em]
[G] Okay, we have a, I think this is the Boss's guitar.
This is a Henry J model, gold top, just come out.
Collector's Choice number 12.
And so what you have here is an entire plethora of sounds without having to plug into one pedal.
How?
Well, you have your volumes, you have your pickup selector, you have your tone knobs,
which is the forgotten pedal or forgotten knob.
So we could start here with your woman tone.
[Em]
[E]
[B] With a simple touch of a button, [C#] you can have instant Wes [Dm] Montgomery.
[C#m]
[Dm] [A] [E]
Then, as we engage the tone, you have a nice bright clean sound.
Again, here's your clean sound.
No need to change a channel, no need to disengage the tube screamer, no need to touch anything
on the floor as you can see.
Well maybe you can't, there's nothing on the floor.
So now, here's your clean sound.
[A] [E]
[Em]
[E]
Now if you want a soul like, say, Johnny Winter or Freddie King or Larry Carlton, you know,
just engage [F#] your front pickup.
[G]
[F]
[Bm] Bring it down, shall you say.
Want a clean tone?
Now we engage the knob again.
[Em]
[A] [D] [E]
So there you go, there's at least five sounds just on one pickup [C#] and two knobs of the guitar.
Before, again, we've touched the pedal board.
Now if you're going to get the lead sound, your tone knob is your friend because if you
want to bring a very bright sounding room.
So if you want to get it real dark and [Bm] creamy, you know.
[E]
[F] You want to play, you want to get your [A#] Jeff Beck group, you know, let me love you [B] baby
[A] [E] [D]
on.
[B] You know, that's working too.
Now if you want to play country music, all you got to do is turn the volume down, the tone up.
[A] [D#]
[F#m] [D]
[Dm] [A]
[C] [E] [A] [C]
[A]
And there's so many different sounds just [G] in a guitar before you even have to plug in a pedal.
So you just take an amp, could be a five watt amp, could be a ten watt amp, could be a two
hundred watt Marshall Major that you bought from Richie Blackmore.
There's a million different guitar sounds in a guitar.
So explore those first and then add the pedals
