a song I've been teasing you with for years and just never got around to a lesson.

_ Some of it was I just couldn't decide exactly how I wanted to teach it.
I've shown this to people lots of different ways at a lot of different levels.
Sometimes we'll just play it as a straight 12 [C]-bar blues. _ _ _ _

Sometimes we'll finger [C] pick the intro like Jimmy did. _ _

I was blown away by this album when it came out.

This is one I didn't have very many records yet.
Well, I don't know.
I probably had 50.
But this was 1972.
_ I believe we could consult because that was the year they had to start putting copyright
dates on albums.

Now, as time went on, Loggins still plays this, but he doesn't play it in C anymore.
He plays it in A.
It makes it a little easier to sing.
And he doesn't usually get the whole riff in there.
The riff is more of a Jimmy Messina kind of thing.
So check out Loggins' version of playing it.

I can say that slower so you can understand what I'm saying, _ _ is just 12 bar blues.
And we'll talk about the blues scale [C] a little [Bb] bit.
