Hey, what's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz here with Marty Music.
I got an easy beginner song for you guys for non-blondes.
Pretty catchy little tune actually.
But anyway, we're going to zoom in.
I'll give you the strumming pattern, three easy chords, and also thanks for supporting Marty Music.
Let's go.
We're going to start with a capo on the second fret.
After I show it to you, that way I'll show it to you without the capo as well.
So capo, second fret.
Then we're going to play a G chord.
And there's different ways to play the G.
Pinky and ring on the third and the third.
I like it that way.
Second, third there.
The next chord, [B] A minor.
[Bm]
Second fret, second fret, first fret.
[B] Then ring finger comes [D] off and goes to the third fret of the A string for a C chord.
And then the progression ends on the [A] G and then starts over again on that same G.
[Bm]
[D]
[A]
Again, see?
Ends and starts on that G.
[Bm]
[D]
[A]
[Bm] [Fm] [Ab]
Just a nice classic strumming pattern here.
[G]
Down, down, [Bb] down, down, up.
[Bbm]
Down, down, down, [Abm] [Bbm] down, [A] down, down, down, [Abm] down, up, up.
[N]
Down, down, down, down, down, down, up, up.
Then you're going to do up, down, up, down, up.
Up, down, up, down, up.
Like that.
You put it together.
Down, down, down, down, up.
Up, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, up, up,
[Bb] [Ab] down, up, up, [A] up, up, down, up, down, up.
[Bm]
[D]
[A]
[Bm] [D]
[A]
[N] Now, with the capo off, it's different and you need one bar chord.
And that's why I taught it that way first.
For the beginners that aren't quite ready for bar chords.
Now, this is also a great song to practice bar chords because it's just one bar chord.
Those are the good practice songs for your bar chords.
It's just that song that just has one, right?
So here's how we would do it.
We'd play an A major chord.
[A]
Then we'd bar the second fret and [Cm] play an [Bm] A minor looking shape.
So it's called B minor.
Then a D [D] chord back to the [A] A.
[E] And this is going to go well with the other way I taught you.
So if you had a friend to play with or another guitar player,
one could play it with the capo, the other one could play it this way.
And now you're kind of mixing up your voicings.
It sounds a little [Dm] more interesting.
So A, [A] B minor, [Bm] and then [Em] D.
[D] [A]
[Bm]
I said [D] hey!
[G] [A]
[Eb] [G] Alright, there was a lesson.
