What's up guys, Brandon Slavinski here and this is your tutorial for a song that you
should know by now.
I mean, it's such an awesome, awesome old school hit.
It is Bush's Glycerine.
Check it out.
Awesome song, four chords.
This is like one of your power chord songs, [F] you know.
So what we're going to do is we're going [C] to strictly [D] teach [Bb] [E] the power chords, right.
[F] We're going to start off with an F.
And to do this power chord, [G] some people like to use
their pinky, some [F] people like to use their ring finger.
I like to use my pinky.
Don't judge.
One, three, three for that F.
So [A] this chord is actually mobile.
We can move it [F] anywhere up and down the neck, right.
[Ab]
[A] [F] So what we're going to do is we're going to do the [C] F and then we're going to do a C, which
is where you mute the low E and you do three, five, five.
And then we're going to scoot it up to a D on that fifth fret.
Okay, so [D] it's mute, five, seven, seven.
[Cm] [Bb] And then we go down to a B flat on the first fret of the A string.
So mute the low E and then we're going to do one, three, three.
We're only focusing on those notes.
So don't [Db] [Bb] get those up there and make sure that you mute that low E, [F] except for on this one.
So that's the first step is learning the chords.
So now that you know the chords, we're going to learn the rhythm.
What [N] you're going to do is you're going to be palm muting.
So you're going to be using this part of your hand to palm [F] mute the lower end of the strings
on the guitar, giving it a little bit more of a percussive sound.
It's going to give us the ability to [C] [Dbm] lift up and give [D] it a little bit more chunk, [F] just like Bush.
[C] [Dm]
[Bb] You hear [N] that one, two, three, one, two, [F] three.
[C] I'm lifting on those.
[D]
[Bb] And then I go right back [D] to palm muting.
[Bb]
[F] [C]
[D] [Bb]
[F] [C]
[D] [Bb]
[F] Must be [C] the skin I'm [Dm] sinking in.
Must be [Bb] for real, cause now I [F] can feel.
I didn't [C] mind.
It's not my [Dm] kind.
It's not my [Bb] time.
Wonder [F] why.
So now you've got the vocal rhythm over the guitar rhythm.
So now you've got that, right?
[G] So then we do the chorus.
This [F] is the greatest part.
So it stays with [C] that.
Don't let the [D] days go [Bb] by, [F] glycerine, [C] [Bb] [F] glycerine.
[C] So to do that, [Bb] [C] you're going to go from the C bar chord that we learned, [Bb] [C] and you're going
to slide down.
[Bb]
[F] [C] Don't let [D] the days [Bb] go by, [F]
glycerine, [C] [Bb] [F] glycerine.
[Ab] So it's all down strokes, right?
So you don't have to do any up strokes [F] or anything, unless you're doing transitions.
[C] [Bb]
[F] [C] [Bb] [N]
And then it just repeats into the verse, and you are good to go.
Those are all the chords that you need to know to be able to play Bush's Glycerine.
So rock it out, and we'll see you in the future, you rock stars.
Peace.
