What's [C] up guys, Brandon Slavinski here and this is your awesome tutorial video for the
phrase how to save a life.
Now this is going to be a simpler way for a guitarist to be able to play it, kind of
putting it all together, seeing as I was very piano heavy I want to make it [D] so that anybody
can play this.
So we're going [C] to start off capo on the third fret, everything I'm [Db] telling you is relative
[Bb] to the capo.
Starting off with a G, that's going to be 3 2 3 3, right? And then we're going to do a D [F] over F sharp and [Dm] that's going to be, our thumb is going to be on the second fret on the low E string, [F] mute 2 3 and mute. And [Gm] then an E minor, 2 2 0. And then we'll do a [F] D and then we'll add in that F sharp as we're kind of transitioning [Bb] and then do a G again. So if you're [Ab] an advanced player you can of course arpeggiate the chords which would sound like [Bb] this, [F] [Gm]
[F] [Bb]
okay? So you can always do that picking pattern but for the [D] beginners, seeing as how this is more of a beginner [Bb] video, we're just going to do this. Step one say [F] you need to talk, [Gm] he walks to you, says [F] sit down, it's [Dm] just [Bb] a talk. Okay? So we're just going to kind of strum through it and then once we get to the [C] chorus we'll strum it out and then we get to the second [Bb] verse and you can either pick it out or you can strum it out. So it goes C, D [F] over F sharp, [Gm] E minor, [F] D and we just add in that F sharp. You can stay on the D, it's totally cool. F sharp, [Bb] G, [F] D over F sharp, [Gm] E minor, [F] D, [Bb] G, [F] D over F sharp, [Gm] E minor. So it just repeats that [Bb] process, right? [F] And then it ends on that. Wonder where you [Bb] came and [C] then it goes into the C, [Eb] okay? Right there. We're going to mute, 3 2 1 0. Where did I [F] go wrong? To a D, which we've learned, to an E [Gm] minor and then [Bb] to a G and then [F] that D over F and then repeat. [Eb] So where did I go [F] wrong? I lost [Gm] a friend somewhere [F] along in the bitterness. [Eb] I was a [F] rooster, you were a [Gm] rooster. I've learned [Bb] how to [F] save a [Bb] life. And then it goes right. [F] [Gm]
[F] [Bb]
You want me to play that picking pattern for you guys? I think you guys do. I think it's going to be good to learn. So check it out. [F] You want to get a little more advanced? [Gm] [F] [Bb]

[Gm] I've learned [Bb] how to save a [Bbm] life. I've learned how to save a life. I've learned how to save a life. I've learned how to save a life. And [G] those are all the chords that you need to know to be able to play the [D] phrase, how to save a life.
