[B] How's it going?
I'm Kurt Vile from Philly [A] and I'm going to [C#m] show you what's going to be in my bag.
[G] One of these is for me [C] and one of these is for Adam, my guitar player.
[G] My [C] friend Dorian who's tour managing us, she turned me on to that song, [Am]
Everybody's Missing the Sun.
[C]
[G]
[Am] But it's Nils Loughran or however you say his name.
[C] [G] Neil Young got him signed.
He played on, [Em] what did he play on?
He played on [Am] Tonight's the Night and he's like the only guitar player Neil ever let
[B] play like some licks.
[D] And then, [A] I think now he's in the E Street Band, Nils.
But anyway, super good, super great [D]
songwriting.
Got [A] this [F] Anne Briggs record.
[A#] [F]
My other guitar player, Jessie, turned me on to Anne Briggs.
Especially she does this song, Willie O'Winsbury, [Em]
which is super [N] beautiful.
And my friend Meg Baird from Espers, she actually covered that song on [D] her record.
It's like an old [F] folk tune.
I don't know if it's Irish, I'm not sure.
But I have that record already so I got the [D] other two.
This [B] [D] is a really great album cover by the way.
Very earthy, earthy, earthy sexy sort of.
[B] And I got this Fairport [F#] Convention [B] record.
[F#]
This is actually the first Fairport Convention record that I'm buying.
[G#m] But it has a cover of Suzanne by Leonard Cohen on it.
And it's got kind of [G#] a deep groove by [D#] either a baritone guitar, maybe a [D#m] bass, but it's
somewhere in between.
But [F#] somebody made me a mix CD a long time ago.
[C#] And I always wondered what album it's on, [D] so now I know.
[Dm] And I'm very stoked about this.
I haven't seen this [D] around in a long [F] time.
I don't know if they just reissued it or you have a [D] remaining copy.
But that song Poison is on here.
[Dm]
[F] [D]
Super deep.
And I just saw Bert Janch open for Neil Young recently.
And it might have been the [F] last song he played.
He said something [D] like, next up is a very uplifting song called [B] Poison.
And I don't know.
He was amazing [F#] that night.
[D] And this, I don't know what this sounds like, [G] but it's $3.
[A] I'm [Bm]
[A] [D]
sure there's some great, potentially, and potentially terrible things going on here.
But gotta love Christine Nippy.
Ween the Mollusk.
These guys are hilarious and incredible musicians.
Some people hate them.
[F#] And some [C] people are fanatics, but [G] I love them.
And [Am] I just recently got into [F] Pure Guava again.
There's a song [F#] on there called The [C#] Stallion Part 3.
[F] And first it's all high-pitched with [C#] this flanger.
And [D#] the guy's saying all these absurd stoner medieval [E] things.
And [C#] then at the very end, this other dude comes in and he's like,
yo dude, he's the stallion.
[G#] Oh man, it's so good.
[C#]
TV [N] Ghost.
[C]
I have this on CD, but I saw it in the New Arrivals.
Young Kids from Lafayette, [E] Indiana.
[N] Kind of gnarly, hateful, punk, dirty.
But it's really awesome.
[Em] And then this, I've been picking up all the Michael Hurley reissues,
but then I remembered I have this one.
[E] I don't [B] want to live in the [B] Twilight [E] Zone.
It's an [Em] older one.
Maybe [F#] right after [E] Armchair Boogie.
[D]
But I have it, so I didn't have to make a hard [Em] decision there.
[D] I think I have all the Michael Hurley reissues right now.
So that's everything.
Thanks, Garrett. Yeah.
