[D] Morrison's [Ab] Jig is a very popular tune that you'll hear a lot in sessions and we were
asked by a few people to include [N] this tune in the lesson series.
So [E] here we go, it starts
on an E and then the next notes are B A B.
[D] So your first finger has to roll over or slide
over [Ab] to the second string from the third string or you can hold the two strings down with
the first finger from [Eb] the beginning.
[Em]
[D] [Eb] [E]
And then the next phrase.
[D] [E]
[D] [N] So the first finger is in play
quite a lot that's why it's nice to be able to find a comfortable position where you can get
board strings.
So Morrison's Jig starts with that long E [Em]
[N] and sometimes I take away the dot,
it's a dotted E at the moment, but if I take away the dot means there's an extra note to
be to substitute for the dot so it becomes a B.
I usually put in a [E] B.
So instead of playing
[B] [Em] I play.
[Eb] Now sometimes I don't change the bow, [E]
[G]
I just bow through [E] that.
So we have and sometimes
I bow it the same way but I establish the rhythm in a bit more of a defined way by playing the
in the beat is quite crisp and clear.
[B] If [Em] I leave the grace note out [Bm] it sounds kind of vague which
is a nice effect.
