[F] [N] Welcome to Flashback Favorites.
I'm Music Mike.
Thanks for joining me again.
Let's head to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a guy by the name of Phil Seymour.
Phil is from Tulsa, and while there he met up with Dwight Twilley to form the Dwight Twilley Band.
In 1975, they had a hit single called I'm On Fire.
Phil plays drums and bass on that tune.
It made it up to number 16 on the Hot 100 charts in 1975.
It's a great song, and if you've never heard it, I suggest you check it out.
In 1980, Phil Seymour released his solo LP On Boardwalk Records, the same label we find Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on.
Now in early 1981, the single was released.
It's called Precious to Me, and it's a superb example of fine Top 40 power pop.
Unfortunately, Phil left us early at 41 years old in 1993 due to cancer, but his music, including this single, will live on as his legacy.
Phil Seymour's tune Precious to Me made it up to number 22 in 1981.
Here it is on Flashback Favorites.
