Chords for Pieta (Dulce Madre) [BEHIND THE SONG] - Athenas & Nico collaborate with The Vigil Project

_ [C] Hey guys, this is Nico and I'm here with my friend Atenas along with The Visual [G] Project
and Jonathan all [C] the way back in Argentina.
And we just want to talk a little bit about [F] the collab process for this song.
Something [C] that was really interesting is that all of us are literally different [F] places around the globe.
I mean, it happens to be that we're all [Am] kind of in the Western Hemisphere.
_ [F] But I've never done something like this where we're kind of writing a [C] song at the same time
as we're putting it together in different [G] places.
So this all started out with Greg having this beautiful idea about Michelangelo's _ [Am] _ sculpture
of the Pieta _ _ [F]
and just about how Mary holds Jesus [C] and Mary can basically hold us in our
best and our [G] worst moments.
And so I went over to [Am] Greg's house with his family and we just kind of started writing
a bunch of ideas.
[F] And some stuck, some didn't.
And after we left, [C] _
we each in our own places, he was in New [G] Orleans, I was in Houston, started
to go ahead and just [Am] decide, okay, let's try this one, let's try that.
We wrote in English [F] and in Spanish.
And then he said he wanted to add other artists [C] to this.
And that's when he told me about Atenas, which I've heard so [G] much about before and I love her videos.
And he [Am] basically decided just like, well, let's bring her on along with Jonathan [F] back in Argentina. _ _
And [C] he basically sent out two [C] ideas and [G] then a little email thread.
He was like, okay, well, what do you guys think?
And this is where she came in along with Jonathan.
So we have [Am] these _ _ sessions on Sky, competition sessions.
[Bm] _
And it [C] was crazy because we were all in different places.
But well, they [G] got us two [Am] beautiful ideas.
We _ _ pick one of those [Bm] and well, we [F] started to work on the chorus, on the verses [C] and some
beautiful ideas came up.
[Am] And well, after two sessions, we got the song and [G] now we are [C] in Nashville.
That is something that is really crazy for us.
We just [G] met yesterday [Am] night.
Oh, no, today.
Actually, today morning.
Yeah, today morning.
We met three hours ago from here.
[G] But we've known about each other, which [F] is really funny.
We actually played a World Youth Day for [D] the Pope one after the other.
But we didn't even get [Am] to say hi.
It was like she played and then a little bit later we played and it [G] was just like dun,
dun, dun, dun.
_ [C] But we know a lot of the same people.
And the vigil [G] project was just incredible, which is doing [Am] such a great job of _ _ trying
to bring people together.
So [G] it's amazing.
[F] Yeah.
And something beautiful about this is that we're in the Catholic Church, [G] the universal
church, and we share the [Am] love for the music.
We share the love for our mother, [F] our Jesus.
_ [C] So and that's why we are here working together for, you [G] know, _ share the good news [Am] _
through
_ _ [F] evangelization and music.
