This is the guitar lesson for Pink Floyd mother the easy way and the correct way
All right, this song is [B] all in the strumming pattern.
[Eb] Okay, the chords are very [G] easy.
The chords are G
[C] C
[D]
And D [E] and then you've got [F] an F in there later in the song and I believe that's it
okay, so this song starts off and
Once again, it's all in the strumming pattern.
[G] Okay, it's how you strum it.
So it goes
[C]
[G]
[N] All right, that's one time through a line of the verse, okay, and that's pretty much the whole song
There's a couple of variations, but let's go through the strumming pattern of that.
Okay?
So for the first part the G [G] it goes [C] G
C [G] and then back to G.
Okay, [N] that's the line, but let's go through the strumming of each of those chords
[G] so the first one G
Into
[C] [G] the C.
Okay, so
So [C]
[N] it's basically down up down up and he emphasizes certain down [G] strokes.
So he goes
[C]
All right now very [G] slow even
[C] [G] slower
[C]
All right, [G] so
Into
[C] the C.
It pauses for a little bit then it goes
It has a hammer.
It goes C.
So you end on [G] C.
So
Hit [C]
a little hammer on in there
I'm just hammering on my middle finger on the second [G] fret D string.
Okay, so
[C]
[G]
Back into that G and there's another hammer on it's with your pointer finger on the second fret eighth string
Okay, so let's go through the C really slow and then into the the final G of that first line.
Okay, so
All [C]
[G]
right.
I could [Em] tell you to do, you know down up down up down, you know a [N] million times but
Let's let's use this as a training to basically watch what I was doing and figured out sit down with a piece of paper
And pencil and write the down strums the down strokes that you saw on the up strokes that you saw.
Okay, so
The only thing that changes is that's the very first like let's say intro of the song.
Okay
Or the very first line of the song and then it gets a little bit different.
Okay, the only part that [Em] changes is [G] the
so [C]
instead of that big pause between the first C strum and then when you go to strumming C
[G] There's a couple little strums in there.
So it goes
[C] You can hear it in the song so listen to the song and pick that up, okay, and then [N] I think he says
I forgot the lyric is but
There's a part where instead of the G.
He's [G] actually starting that line with the C.
[C] Okay, so it goes
[G]
[N] Same strumming pattern.
Okay, and he's still emphasizing the same down strums with that C chord.
Okay, so I'll do it once again very [C] slowly.
So
I'm sorry,
[G]
it goes into D
[D] All [C]
[G]
right, that's the verse of the song now let's talk about the pre-chorus, okay, [D] so it goes
[N] Hush, I think it goes a hush now [G] baby.
Baby.
Don't you cry so
Hush now baby, baby, [C] don't you cry
Then [F] F.
[C] Notice my strumming [F] pattern changes too.
F again, [C] C
[F] F.
[C]
[F] [C]
I think he plays that four or five times and then he goes keep baby cozy and warm
[D] And this is the part that he [Em] plays for cozy [F] and warm.
He goes F
[C]
[G]
[Eb] C
Okay, so what I do [C] for cozy and warm was C
Then I hold the same chord.
I just move my ring finger down to the second fret a string
[Em] so cozy and then I take that ring finger off and [Am] I play
Then [G] G is warm [C] so
[G]
And that's [C] the strumming pattern, [N] okay, you can hear it change, okay
When he says [G] hush now baby, baby, that's where the [Gb] strumming pattern changes, okay, and the strumming pattern [F] goes from
It [G] goes from what I was showing you earlier [F] to
So it's down down up down down down up down down down down [C] down
Down
[F] [C] down down down [F] down down down down down [C] down
[G] C is warm
Then it
[D] goes D
[C]
[D] [C]
[D] C
C
C
[G] [C] C
[G] And that's
[C] where [N] the solo comes in the bed, you know the whole guitar solo, okay
That's all you need to know the second part of the song after the solo is the verse repeated
okay, and then it finishes and
That's those are all the parts of the song, okay, I hope that's helped you out.
It's a great song
I'll be I'll be doing a cover of it and I will also be
Do it showing you how to put the guitar solo too soon.
