[Eb] We're going to do [Bb] what a friend we have in Jesus.
And I just want [Eb] to show you a couple of ways that you can play this [Ab] song.
Okay, so, [Eb] again we're going to be in the key of D flat, so we'll start off like [Db] this.
We'll say
[Gb] [Bbm]
[Ebm] [Ab]
[Db] [Db]
[Gb] Alright, so, you know, that's one way you can play it.
Another way you can just kind of play it, you can play it more and more of a traditional pattern.
You can be like
Or
[Abm] Like that.
[Fm] [Db]
[Gb] [Ab] Okay.
Alright, so the first way, [Db] what I did there, I just kind of
Alright, so this is what a friend we have in Jesus.
Alright, so you have
[Gb]
[E] [Db] [Bbm]
[Bbm] [Ebm] Okay, [Gb] [Ab]
[Db] so, first chord.
That's what a [Gb] friend we have [Ab]
in [Gb] Jesus.
Okay.
[Gm]
[Db] [C]
Diminished.
Well, actually that's a C major chord, okay, so
But it's based off the diminished.
So, you have C, G, E.
And then on your left hand you have E and G.
[E] [Db]
Okay, [Bbm]
so let's go back.
[Db] [Gb]
[Db] [B]
[Gb]
[C] [Db]
[C] [Gm] [Db]
[Bbm] [Db]
[Bbm] [Ab] Two, and
Then you have to, then when you do that, you kind of
Hit [Gb] that A flat, that five.
[C]
[Db] Alright, so
[Ab] [Bbm] [Db]
[Bbm] Okay.
[Ebm] [Ab]
[C] [Db] [Ab]
Alright, so I'm doing an A flat chord there.
[Bbm]
Then you go to the six in your left hand, which is B flat.
Synth, invert down.
It's a D flat chord, and then you invert it down.
And
Three
D, [Eb] E flat.
[Db]
[G]
[Eb] [Ebm] Two Flat.
Okay.
[Gb] [Bbm] [Bbm] [Fm]
[Bbm] You do that.
[Gb]
[G] [Ab] [Eb]
[Fm] [G]
So I'm doing a tritone with my left hand when I do that.
Alright, that's how you kind of get to the five.
You can do that on the five, from the two to the five, so
E [Eb] flat.
[Bbm]
[Gb] [Fm] [G] So I'm doing a B flat minor.
B flat, F, D flat.
And then you just kind of hold that tritone in your left hand, alright?
So, you just kind of grace that E [Eb] flat.
Then you're going to play that tritone, which is [G] G, D flat.
So, I'm inverting that tritone up also, [Db] so
[G]
Alright, so that'll be a B flat minor, then you're going to go
[Ab] To an A flat chord, A flat major.
Then, B flat minor, invert [G] up.
Invert that tritone up in your left hand.
And then, B flat.
[Fm] Alright, and then you're going to
A flat, F, which is F minor.
A flat, F, C.
Okay?
And then [Gb] you'll have C, G flat in your left hand, tritone, [Ab] okay?
[G] So
[Fm]
Okay, [Db] so
What a friend we [B] have in [Gb] Jesus
[C]
[E] [Db] All [Bbm] our sins and [G] griefs to bear
[Ab] [Bbm] [Fm]
Okay?
And then you can do something [Bb] like
