You [D] know, William Clark [A] Green decided to write a song about the little [E]-known dark side of
the traveling circus.
He [G] was so proud of the results that he [A] named the [E] 2015 record after the tune.
It's called Ringling Road.
[D] Here's Will's take [A] on the inspiration behind [E] that one.
Ringling Road I wrote with Randall [G] Clay and Ross Cooper.
Randall [A] was the roustabout for [E]
10 years in the circus and Ross is a buddy of mine from Lubbock.
I called Ross.
Ross had written [D] a circus song before and I called him because I [A] knew the [D] story of Ringling
Road which is in [E] Eastland.
I kind of told him the story and he is more familiar with writing a circus song than I've
never done before.
So I asked if he would [D] help write it with me and he said the [A] night before he met a guy
at a bar [D] named Randall Clay who was a roustabout [A] for 10 years who writes under Bobby Pinson
[E] in Nashville.
I was like, get him on the right.
We [D] got in there and we just had fun with it.
[A] Once again it was one of those songs that [E] was so creative and so outside the box but
that's the beautiful thing about the Texas [G] music scene is the further you get [A] outside
the box [E] on some things they gravitate that way as opposed to your top 40 country.
It's not [D] the formula.
It's [A] completely outside of what it [E] should be which is great.
Like I said the best part about the Texas music scene [G] is because people gravitate towards
that stuff [Am] because it's so [D] different.
