Hey guys, it's Matt here with Acoustic Selection and today I'm going to teach the song Let It Rain [C] by David Neil and I chose this song
because all the chords
[Am] use [G] C, A minor, [F] G and F [C] and they're all formed the same way by taking the root note which is
and play every other note.
So a C
I've got the C all the C notes marked for you to make it [F#] easier
To find a C if you don't have it marked [C] find the two keys go one key to the left and there's your C note
So a C chord
We're gonna break this down in steps a C chord is every other one start with the C note [B] move your [Am] hand
This is a B.
This is a A and A minor is every other note
[C] There's a C
[Am] There's an A minor
[G] Then it starts back over G F and so forth move down one more
Every other note start with a G and that's a G chord
[F] Then one more down is an F
[C] So we have C, [Am] A minor, [G] [F] G and F
[C] What you're gonna do is start out with just the right hand
[G]
[F] [Am] [G]
[F] [C] [Am]
[G] [F]
[G] Let it come down [F] on me and let it rain
So you see if you learn chords and you sing the melody [C] music doesn't have to be that hard
After you get used to the right hand play with your thumb first finger and this finger
[G] [C] [Am] C, [G] A [F] minor, G, F
[C] What you're gonna do is go down here and play with your pinky middle finger and thumb
The same thing so a C down here and a C up here
Let it rain, let [Am] it pour
[C] What as far as similar to find a strumming pattern with a guitar the rhythm I will do is both and then right
Again, this is after you first get the one hand down try both hands
Let it rain, let it [Am] pour
She [G] don't love me [F] anymore
[C] Let it come down on me
Let it [G] come down [F] on me
Let [C] it hurt
[G] Even more [F] than I deserve
Let it [C] come down on me
[G] Let it come down [F] on me
[C] So [G]
[F] [C] after you get more advanced with that you can do going back and forth
Again, you're still keeping that timing two beats per chord
But you can go back and forth let it rain
Let [Am] it pour
She [G] don't love me [F] anymore
[C] Let it come down on me
[G] Let it come down [F] on me
[C] And every word [Am] that it hurt
[G] Even more [F] than I deserve
Let it come down [Am] on me
[C] Let it [G] come down [F] on me
If [Am] [C] you get more and more advanced what I'll do is I'll play the C, but I'll add a pinky so it's
the high string.
So [D] I'll play the root note again an octave up.
[C] So C would be the regular C [Am] and up here A minor [G] then A
G [F] and up in a G, F and F
[C] So I go back and forth between all of them.
Let it rain, [Am] let it pour
[G] She don't love [F] me anymore
Let [C] it come down on [Am] me
Let [G] it come down [F] on me
And [C] every word [Am] that it hurt
[G] Even more than [F] I deserve
[C] Let it come down on me
Let it [G] come down on [F] me
[C]
So [G] [Dm] [C]
you [F] can [Am] see piano doesn't have to be that hard.
On the verses it's A minor G then F so
and even the intro A minor [G] G [F] F
It's [Am] [G] [F]
[Am] hard to find the perfect [G] time to say something you know it's gonna [F] change everything
[Am] Living with the shame [G] it ain't nothing like the pain that [F] I saw on her face
[G] Now me and my pile of things
[Am] She threw out the window [F] drowning next to me
[G] No seven years ago [D] can't hide the [Am] one night I forgot the [F] way that
back [G] to chorus
[C] So let it rain, [Am] let it pour
[G] She don't love me [F] anymore
Let [C] it come down on me
Let [G] it come [F] down on me
And [C] every word that [Am] it hurt
Even [G] more than I [F] deserve
Let [C] it come down on [Am] me
Let [G] it come [F] down on me
[C]
[G] [F] [C]
So [G] [F] again if you're just learning music a lot of people you [D] see everybody doing all this [A] fancy stuff [G] and
[D] You think [G] it's like [C] you'll never learn you have to learn each note what you want to do is learn the chords
And then go back [D#m] and forth the notes within [C] the chords so again C
You play a C and E and a G
And any pattern there you play all you can alternate
Whatever [Am] a [A] minor is right here a is up here, and you [Am] step it a half down makes a minor [G] G
