Start Jamming...
Hey guys Matt here with Acoustic Selection.
Hope you're doing well.
I'm gonna teach a [G] great song of the anchor holds.
It's going to use a
four five chords first your G chord
Choose your [C] G.
I have the C notes mark
[G] G note every other white key again.
I'm gonna use my thumb first finger middle finger because a lot of times
I'll play one two three and then a high G [C] or a C or [Am] a minor
So I don't you don't have to do [G] it first start now.
You can do just three or these three
You do your middle finger pinky?
Whatever's comfortable.
It's gonna be a G [C] and
Then you're gonna
C which is C note every other white key
E minor
E note every other [G] white key and the D
[Dm] Every other white key but [D] raised half a step
There's your D chord a D F sharp and A and A minor [Am] is gonna be an A every other white key
So you [G] see your [C] G, A minor, C and E minor are [G] formed the same [C] way
Your root note just changes [Dm] and that D is gonna be the same except [D] this raised half a step
[G] Start with just your right hand.
I'm gonna do the chorus the anchor hold
[C] That's [G] [C] what's called a transitional chord you can see I threw in a quick C even though I
If I want to I can stay on the G
The anchor [G] hold
Though the [C] ship's been mated
The [Am] anchor [D] hold
Though the ship's [G] been mated
Though the ship's been mated
So that was [C] just G C D if you want to you can do those [G] transitional chords now
I'm [C] playing a G.
I would transition C back to G.
If I'm playing a C
D back to [D] C if I'm playing [Em] a D E minor back to D.
I'm gonna right hand just transition here
the anchor [G] hold
[C] [G]
[C]
[D] The anchor hold
[Em] [D] Now
[G] [C] [G] what [Em]
you'll do now you're gonna add [G] this right hand, but you're gonna play the same chord so two [C] G's [D] two C's
[G] two D's for example, but what you'll do when you want to do if you want to do the transitional chord is
You'll keep your right hand on the [C] same, but just [G] do one quick with the left
Keep your left hand the bass note playing your same root chords G and you'll do it
[C]
[D]
[G]
[C]
[D]
[G]
So
Start out with just do both hands then right hand to give what's called a rhythmic pattern so
So
[C]
[D]
remember [G] first learn just your right hand then maybe that transitional chord then both hands do a real slow
Methodical keep that timing a lot of times even on this bass end.
I'll play just the two outside chords
Instead of the full chord, but you can do it the four chord or the two outside
[C]
And I'll have the verses and the lyrics on the playlist tab at the bottom but uh [G] starts at
I [C] have a journey G to C
[G] Back to G
To the [C] long dark night
Let's see [Em] then E minor
Not only will I [G] see
[D] Let's D
Then you'll go to A minor
[Am] Save [D] the lonely D
And then you'll go to C
Then back to [G] G [C] Sign See
[G] [D] Sign
[Em] G to D D minor
[C] And you'll desire
C [D] to D
[C] And you'll [D] desire [G] What she Need
Third chord Need
A A A A A A A A A A A
[C]
[D] [C] Shoot me a [B] message with [Bb] any questions, [G] again work on the timing and rhythm of the pattern
that will really help you out there.
Have a great [N] day, God bless
