Fly Me to the Moon/Lucky Mashup - Rick Hale feat. Breea Guttery -- Guitar Tutorial chords
Start Jamming...
[Am] Fly me to [Dm] the moon and let [Em] me dance among the stars
[Dm] Let me know [Bb] what spring is like [E] on Jupiter [Am] and Mars
[Dm] In other [G] words, [Em]
hold my [Am] hand
[Gm] In other [Em] words, baby kiss me
[E] [Am] Fill my heart with [Dm] song
[Am] I hope you like it.
It's great to play at weddings.
It's great to play for fun.
It's great for YouTube videos.
Just getting started.
In my right hand, I'm always using my thumb and then these three fingers, they're plucking these strings pretty [F] much with [Em] each chord.
[Dm] So that's all that's going on is just at the same time.
And then sometimes the bass will hit a little earlier.
[Bb] [E]
[Am] [Ab] In the left hand, you'll notice that I use the technique that wraps my thumb around.
You can thank John Mayer for that one.
Basically, I use my thumb to play the E string a lot of the time.
So on this A minor 7 chord, I hold the E string with my thumb and then this pointer finger comes around [C] and bars [Am] these three notes.
Then when I switch to [F] the D minor 7, play it right [C] there.
This finger is barring down here and then these fingers [Dm] come over to play that.
And then for [Em] the G13, I go back to using my thumb right there.
[C] Continuing on, [Dm]
more thumb usage.
Feel free to do it that way.
If you don't want to do [Abm] it that way, you don't have to.
A lot of people will play it with [Am] their pointer [D] and do one of [Am] these.
[B] And if you want it to be [E] crazy, you can just bar it with [A] one finger.
[C] Whatever you like.
That's basically the gist of that first part.
Now I'll go into the verse for Lucky.
On that part, we start with the C major [G] on the verse.
[C] [A]
[C] [Dm] [F] [G]
[E] [Am] [C]
[F] [Em]
[C] That just repeats.
[Am]
[Em]
[E] [Am]
[Dm] [Em] [Ab]
[C] So there's the one variation.
It's when it goes to the [Ab] G13, then it [D] goes to this G sharp diminished chord, which is leading you right into the [Am] chorus.
[E] [Am] [Dm]
[G] [Em]
Lucky to have stayed where we [Am] have been.
Lucky [Dm] to be coming [F] [G] home [Em] again.
[Ab] [Am] Lucky [Dm] we're in love in every [G] [Em] way.
Lucky to have stayed [G] where we [Am] have stayed.
Lucky [Dm] to be coming [F] home [G] someday.
[Em] [Fm]
[E] [Am] [Dm] So [Em] one thing I do going into the whistle solo, you'll notice as I do this, [Ab]
[Am] [G] it's just hitting the [Em] bass [Ab]
[Am] and then the chord.
When I do the whistle solo, I'm just playing the same verse that I played for Fly Me to the Moon.
So it goes back to that A minor 7 chord [F] and then [G] going [Am] through.
[Dm]
[Em]
[F] I probably shouldn't be too [Am] loud because I have two little boys who are asleep in the next room.
Basically, you play through the verse of Fly Me to the Moon and then it leads back into the chorus of [Dm] Lucky.
[G]
[C] [Am] [Dm]
[E] So coming out of the whistle solo, it [G] does [Ab] that.
[Am] [Abm] [C]
[Dm] Building up and it's supposed to be [G] really big.
So I'm [C] playing with more intensity and the strumming [Am] pattern is a little bit different.
[F] [Em]
[Ab] [Am] We [Ab] already have that chorus.
It goes from that Lucky chorus into the final mashed up chorus.
And at that part, it's just playing the Fly Me to the Moon verse on the guitar.
[C]
[Dm] [G]
[Em] So this [F] part, you'll notice I'm using the same [Bb] chords, but the strumming pattern is [E] a little bit different and I'm [Am] playing with a lot more intensity because this [Dm] is like the pinnacle of the [G] song.
[Am] I [Dm] just kind of strum it out with my pointer [F] fingernail.
[G] [Em] And then same [A] thing there when you do the G13.
[C] And then pick out that C major 7.
[Em] You'll notice that I play the E string, I play that one open and then [G] you end up barring it [C] with your pointer [G] finger [C] so it goes up to the G.
And that's how it ends.
Nice and lovely.
So I hope you like it.
I hope this all made sense.
If you have any questions, you can ask me in the comments and I'll try to get back to you.
I just want to say, seriously, thank you so so much for everyone who has subscribed, for everyone who watched the video, who have been kind enough to share it, and for all your kind comments.
I really can't thank you enough.
It has really made me excited to do more videos.
I'm already working on another mashup that if you like Fly Me to the Moon, you are going to totally love.
Seriously guys, thank you so much.
It means the world.
And I'll [Dm]
see you in the next [Em] one.
Bye.
