How to Play Forever Young - Rod Stewart (cover) Easy 3 Chord Tune chords
Start Jamming...
Hey guys, Party Marty here, Easy Guitar Tunes on YouTube.
I've got another favorite tune of mine by Rod Stewart.
It's called Forever Young.
It's also very dear to my heart.
It reminds me of my kids, my son and my daughter there.
So I'm going to dedicate this to them, Josh and Jenna.
I hope you guys enjoy this one.
Probably as you get a little older, they're pretty young right now.
Anyway, this was also a request so I thought I'd throw it up.
Now I put an acoustic spin on this song.
I kind of play it my own little way.
So I hope you guys enjoy this version.
It is a real good tune and very easy to play.
Anyway, the chords to it are G.
I generally play a four finger G with it.
That's just the baby on the bottom.
Third finger on the second string from the bottom of the third fret.
And then your same G shape.
Two purse fingers, the index finger and the second finger on the top.
So it's pretty much that.
[D] And then D.
[Em]
And there's an E minor in there.
And that's pretty much it.
Now again, I play this in an acoustic fashion.
[N] I find it very good.
And this one here is for my kids.
So basically the strum pattern goes [G] kind of like this.
[D]
[G]
[D] [G]
[D]
[G] [D]
[G] And then of course
[Em] [G]
[D] [G]
So it kind of goes like [D] that.
So practice that through a little bit and speed it up a little bit.
Not too much.
But [G] anyway, this is a song for every young by Rod Stewart for [D] my two little ones.
I hope you guys enjoy this one.

And [D] may sunshine and [G] happiness surround you in your fall
[D] [G]
And may [D] you grow to be [G] proud, dignified and [D] true
[G]
[D] And do unto [G] others as you have done to [D] you
[G] Be [Em] courageous and [G] be brave
And in [Em] my heart you'll [G] always stay
[D] Forever young, [G]
forever [D] young
[G]
[D] May good fortune be [G] with you, may your guiding light [D] be strong
[G]
Build [D] a stairway to heaven [G] with a prince or a [D] vagabond
[G]
And [Em] may you fell the [G] love in vain
And [Em] in my heart you [G] will remain
Forever [D] young, [G]
forever [D] young
[G]
[Em] Forever [G]
[D] young, [G]
[D] [G]
[Em] forever [G]

And when you finally fly away I'll be hoping that I serve you well
For [D] all the wisdom of a lifetime [G]

But [G]
[Em] whatever road you choose I'll ride behind you, [G] win or lose
Forever [D] young, forever [D] young
[G]
