How to Play - The Midnight Special - John Fogarty (cover) - Easy 4 Chord Tune chords
Start Jamming...
[N] Hey guys, [D] birdie birdie your easy guitar tunes on YouTube.
I've got another really great tune from CCR.
It's called [Gm] midnight special
It's been requested a bunch of times from some of my subscribers and friends as [Bb] well
It's one of my favorite [G] bands and one of my favorite tunes.
Hope you guys enjoy this one.
It's pretty simple
It's just four chords in [A] this tune the way I play it.
I also had a [G] slap strum.
We'll get into that later
[D] First one is D first chord is D
There's [G] a G you do a four finger G or a three finger G
Every like
There's also an a7.
So all that is is your full a shape, but just lift [A] that middle finger
That's your a7
It's a full a shape without the middle and [C] then there's a C
So again, the chords are [D] D
[G] G
[A] A7 and [C] C
So [Gb] now he talks to the first verse so
Kind of give [Bb] you a feel for how that goes and then [Db] the rest of the [B] song I [G] strum with it with a slap strum
[D] so all the slap drum is is me [G] using the fat of [Em] my my [G] thumb to on every fourth beat just
Let me need a better explanation of [D] that you can always click on my slap strum [Gb] link that's on this video and
Check [E] that out and give you a little better explanation.
[D] So
Some kind of goes like this
Well, you wake [G] up in the morning
You hear the [D] work bill ringing
They march [A] you to the table
You [D] see the same old thing
Ain't no [G] food upon the table
You [D] know folk up in the bed
But you better not [A] complain
[Db] You'll get in [D] trouble with the men
And then I started and it's kind of that's left room
[Bb] So I'll slow it down [G] through the chorus and [Gm] then we'll get to the song kind of goes like this let the [D] midnight special
[G]
Shine a light on [D] me
Let the midnight [A]
special shine a light on [D] me
Let the midnight [G] special shine a light [D] on me
Let the midnight [A] special
Shine a ever loving light [D] on me
Yonder come [G] is rosy
How in the world did [D] you know?
That's [Gm] how it goes all the way through [Eb] all it's a little bit faster.
[Db] So
Practice those [B] progressions and practice that strum and [Eb] then join us for the song midnight special from [Gb] CC.
