[N] Hey guys, Party Marty here, Easy Guitar [Eb] Tunes.
[Db] I've got another
classic rock, really cool tune [G] by Jerry Lee Lewis called Great [E] Balls of Fire.
I've had [D] this requested a few times.
I [Ab] actually just learned this [Bb] song a little while ago, [G] and I really, really enjoy [Bb] playing it.
I'll tell you, it goes over well.
The parties have already tried it a few times,
so [E] you guys enjoy this one.
The way I [Eb] play it's pretty simple.
[G] Just add a G, [C] then there's a C,
[D] and then there's a D.
[Em] Now I kind of ride [Eb] the G and the C a little bit, and I kind of,
it's almost like [Ab] a bluesy, kind of a bluesy [G] feel.
It kind of goes something like this.
So [Eb] basically what I'm doing [Gm] is
[Ab] [E] the third string [D] from the top, instead [B] of your regular G shape,
which would be your [Ab] index finger on the second string from the top of [Bb] the second fret,
[C] I actually use the top, my middle finger, [A] to kind of denton that string a little bit, so I'm lightly [G] leaning on it.
So I can ride the third string from the top of the second fret, just to give it that nice bluesy feel.
Right?
And [Db] sometimes you'll see me play that [G] with three fingers.
Same idea.
That's probably what I'll do with [E] this one, because it's pretty quick.
And then the C is the same thing.
[C] The C, all I'm doing is
suspending it.
So I'm lifting and dropping the second finger.
[D] And then the D, I'm lifting and dropping, which is called suspending the index finger in D.
So that's all I'm doing with that.
[Bb] Okay, so again the [G] chords are G,
then a [C] Z, and [D] a D.
And with the G, I'm deadening with the third finger, [G] I'm deadening that second string, so I can ride the third string,
suspend that third string.
And then the C is the [C] same thing, and all I'm doing is go
[D] And then D is the same.
And you'll see that's periodically in the [G] song, so I just wanted to make you guys aware of what that is.
[E] That's totally [Bb] optional.
You can just strum [Ab] right through it until you get comfortable with the tune.
But that's kind of the way [Em] I play it, so I hope you [E] guys enjoy that version.
[D] So you're kind of [Eb] stopping and [E] starting in this song.
I try to [Em] keep it easy, but I still try to kind of [Bb] keep to the rhythm of the song.
So it's kind of something like [G] this.
You shake your nose and you rattle my brain.
[C] Love the driving man insane.
[Bb] You roll my wheel, a whole lot of [G] thrill.
Old man's a bitch, his great balls will fight the star.
I laughed at love because I thought it was funny.
[C] You see the beard on it?
[D]
Roll my wheel, [C] a whole lot of thrill.
[G] Old man's a bitch, his great balls will fight.
[Db] [Bb]
[Em] So, I don't really
You know what, we'll go through the first [C] verse [A] slowly, [Em] and then I'll play the tune [E] as I sing.
[G]
You shake [D] my nose and you rattle my [G] brain.
[A] Love [G] the driving man [C] insane.
Roll my wheel, a whole lot of [G] thrill.
Goodness of grace, his great balls will fight.
I laughed at love because I thought it was funny.
[C] You came along and you moved me, honey.
[D] You changed my mind, [C] my love was fine.
[G] Goodness of grace, his great balls will fight.
And then the bridge in the [C] chorus would be
Kiss me baby, oh, [G] feels so fine.
[C] Oh, baby, [A] let me love you like [D] a lover should.
No fine.
So it kind of goes [Eb] like that.
You'll have to probably play [E] that through a little bit slow, and then [G] kind of speed it up.
But [Bb] that's pretty much the gist of this song.
So I hope you guys [E] enjoy this great balls of fire, Jerry Lee Lewis.
Let's give this one a [C] go.
[Eb] Ready?
One, two, [G] three.
[Bb] You shake my nose and you rattle my brain.
Too much love and drives a man insane.

Goodness of grace, his great balls will fight.
I laughed at love because I thought it was funny.

[C] Oh, baby, [A]
let me love you like a [D] lover should.
You're fine, so kind.
Gonna tell this world that you're mine, mine, [G] mine, mine.
[Gm] I drew my nails [G] and I twirled my thumb.
[C] I was a little nervous and it's so much fun.
[A]
Oh, baby, you're driving [C] me crazy.
Goodness [G] of grace, his great balls will fight.
[C]
[D] [C] [G]
