[N] Hey guys, Party Marty here, Easy [B] Guitar Tunes.
I've got another great [Abm] tune, another great blues [G] tune.
Another great [Ab] request by one of my subscribers.
I fell in love with it from Fats Domino there.
It's called Going to Kansas City.
It's been done a hundred different times.
I think it was written back in the 50's, but I [F] kind of fell in love with it when I saw Fats Domino do it on YouTube.
I was actually watching the video.
So anyway, that's kind of how I modeled it.
I did simplify to try to make [Bm] it another blues tune for you guys to learn on.
[A] There's a little blues link in there for a couple of little tricks that [F] I'm going to do.
So you guys take advantage of that.
Basic three blues chords that [B] I like to use are [E] E,
[A] A, and [B] B7.
[E] Again, E, [A] A, [B] and B7.
So a few things [F] I do there with the E [B] chord for starters, I kind of put my baby down in the second fret,
second string from the bottom, and then I make it a 7.
[E] So it's kind of like a slide from the second to the third fret.
[Db] Kind of gives it a nice bluesy feel.
I do the [Dm] same thing with the A, but the A is the bottom string.
So I go [A] baby finger third, and then I just bend my [B] fingers down to get that bottom string in the second.
So it's like [A] this.
[Gbm]
[A] [B] And you'll also see me take that B7 chord.
Instead of the first fret, I'll start it in the third and slide it back to the first like [E] this.
Again, B7.
[Bm] All easy little [E] simple tricks there, but once you get onto [F] them, they do make the song sound better.
[Db] I'll run into the B7.
[A] So it would just be an open second string from the top, [C] which would be your A string,
and then open, and then first fret on the A, and [B] then second fret on the A right into your B7.
So it's like this.
And you'll also see me do a couple of licks on the high end of the E [A] scale and the low end of the E scale.
Again, if you click [B] on this little blues link that's in the corner there,
it'll give you a better [Ab] explanation of all this.
But [D] quickly, the E scale [Em] would be like this.
[Bm]
[Em] So one of the licks that I do comes on the [A] top end of it.
So it just goes like [Em] this.
[E]
Again.
[Em]
[E] And if you click on that link, it'll give you a better [Em] explanation.
[E]
And then the bottom [B] end of the scale, I also kind of [Ab] almost the same thing, a little bit different.
It kind of goes like this.
[A]
[E]
[A] [E]
[Em] [E]
[A] [E] [F] So again, click on that blues [D] link, and it'll explain those a little further for you.
And [C] the only other thing I want to go over is just the strum.
[E] So I'll just kind of mute it's strum.
[A] I think I might have already done it in the video, but we'll do it again.
Because I want [E] to kind of slow down the strum anyway.
All you're really doing is [A] turning your fingers, so you're still getting the tone,
but it kind [B]
of mutes it long enough that it [E] gives it that bluesy, four-beat feel.
[B] [A]
[E] And that's how the strum goes all the way through the song.
[B] So practice those little [F] techniques, those chords of that strum, and then join us for the song.
This is called Going to Kansas City, [Eb] Fat Stomach No Stop.
Hope you guys enjoy this [Em] one.
[E]
[Em] [E]
[A] [E]
Going to Kansas [A] City, Kansas City here I [E] come
Yeah, [A] I'm going to Kansas City, Kansas City here [E] I come
They [B] got a lot of pretty women [A] there, I'm gonna [E]
get me one
[B]
[E] Gonna be standing on the corner of 12th Street and Vine
Gonna [A] be standing on the corner of [E] 12th Street and Vine
With [B] my Kansas City baby and [A] my Kansas City [Em] bottle of wine
[E]
Well, I'm going to Kansas, Kansas City here I come
Yeah, [A] I'm going to Kansas City, Kansas City here [E] I come
They [Bm] got a lot of pretty women there, I'm [Ab] gonna get [E] me one
[G] [B]
Well, [E] I might take a plane, might take a train
But if I gotta walk, I'm going just the same [A] Kansas City, Kansas City [E] here I come
[G] [E]
They got [B] a lot of pretty women there, [A] I'm gonna [Abm] get me [E] one
[G] [E] [B]
[E]
[A]
[E]
[B]
[E]
Well, I might take a plane, might take a train

[B] got a lot of pretty women there, I'm gonna [E]
get me one
Ah, [A] [E]
that's a great old tune.
[Eb] I kind of put a spin on it there, giving a few little bluesy licks for you guys [F] to kind of start [Ab] playing some blues there and have some fun with it.
So I hope you guys [F] enjoyed that.
[D] That's Domino version of Kansas [Ab] City.
And guys, get over to my channel.
I got all kinds of fun things going on over there.
We're getting into some blues now and doing some learner videos there so you guys can kind of, you know, play around a lot.
I think I've got [A] a hundred, I think close to 200 videos anyway [C] there.
And they're all kind of simplified these songs a little bit.
And you can play, you [Ab] don't need to use all those [D] licks that I did.
You can actually just play the three chords there [C] and sing those words and it'll be great.
[F] So anyway, [B] if you like what you see, definitely give me a [D] like.
I always like hearing from you guys.
Lots of [C] comments there.
I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
I put a new [Bm] tune up every Thursday [A] so I hope to [B] see you soon.
